As a seasoned gamer and cinephile with a soft spot for action-packed movies, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing the news about the sequel to ‘Wolfs’. The prospect of seeing Brad Pitt and George Clooney back on screen together, this time in a follow-up to their critically acclaimed film, is simply too tantalizing to ignore.
Ahead of its premiere at the Venice Film Festival, Wolfs is getting a sequel.
Jon Watts is contracted by Apple to pen and helm a sequel to his film featuring Brad Pitt and George Clooney, portraying characters who inadvertently take on the same task as fixers. It remains undecided if contracts for Pitt and Clooney to reprise their roles have been finalized.
The sequel’s release date has been officially set by Apple; it will become available on Apple TV+ starting September 27th, following a restricted theater release through Sony on September 20th. Originally, there were plans for a wider theatrical launch.
The film titled “Wolfs” is brought to you by Clooney’s Smokehouse and Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment. It features Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Poorna Jagannathan, Richard Kind, Zlatko Burić, and also stars Julia Roberts (in reference to George Clooney). The production team includes Grant Heslov, Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and the duo of Watts and McGunigle. Michael Beugg serves as executive producer.
Pitt is all set to feature in another Apple production, titled “F1”, helmed by director Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Notable recent and forthcoming productions from Apple include the movie “The Instigators” directed by Doug Liman, which has recently been released in cinemas, and the World War II drama “Blitz”, directed by Steve McQueen.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but marvel at the incredible work Jon Watts has done, particularly in directing the latest Sony-produced Spider-Man trilogy. The final installment, “No Way Home,” truly redefined cinematic success, smashing box office records on its path to an astounding $1.9 billion at the global box office.
