Lisa Vanderpump Series Renewed at Hulu, With ‘VPR’ Alum Stassi Schroeder Joining Cast

As a die-hard fan of reality TV, I must say I’m absolutely thrilled to see Stassi Schroeder making a comeback! After her tumultuous journey on Vanderpump Rules and the subsequent events that followed, it’s heartening to see her back in the game.

Following the intense 11th season of “Vanderpump Rules,” after the fallout from Scandoval, some viewers called for changes, wondering if bringing back beloved cast member Stassi Schroeder might revitalize the show. Interestingly, Schroeder is indeed making a comeback to reality TV, but not on Bravo this time.

In the latest agreement with Hulu, Stassi Schroeder is set to star in her self-titled series called “Stassi Says“. This half-hour program blends documentary and comedy genres, showcasing Stassi along with a group of new, humorous, and unpredictable characters. They all grapple with personal identity struggles and crucial life decisions, with Stassi serving as the guiding force to help them navigate through their challenges.

Some fans had even pondered the possibility of Schroeder appearing on the second season of “The Valley,” the Bravo spinoff featuring other cast members from “Vanderpump Rules.” Yet, contrary to expectations that she might join her ex-boyfriend Jax Taylor and former close friend Kristen Doute in this series, Schroeder will instead be reconnecting with her previous employer, Lisa Vanderpump, on the upcoming “Vanderpump Villa,” which has been given a second season on Hulu.

The series in question is a blend of “Below Deck” and early “Vanderpump Rules”, focusing on the restaurant tycoon’s freshly chosen staff as they are assigned to create idyllic getaways for affluent clients at the exclusive French property, Chateau Rosabelle, owned by Vanderpump.

Hulu announces Schroeder has become a main character on the series, mentioning that Schroeder built a strong connection with Vanderpump during ‘Vanderpump Rules.’ Now, he’s set to reunite with his former boss in Europe for the upcoming season. More cast details will be shared later.

In January, the co-executive producers of “The Valley,” Vanderpump and Alex Baskin, told The Hollywood Reporter that there were no intentions to bring Schroeder onto “VPR.” Vanderpump expressed, “I’m fond of Stassi and I thought she made good television, but regrettably, there was no room for her to return. If it were up to me, I would have granted her a second chance, as I’m usually in favor of giving people opportunities to make amends.”

I’m thrilled to express my affection for Stassi! There’s definitely potential for us to collaborate once more. We didn’t delve deeply into the details, but we did toss around some ideas and who knows what the future holds? At that time, she was in a unique phase of her life, preparing for another birth; she’s thriving on her own path now.

In 2020, Schroeder and several other cast members, including Doute, Taylor, and Brittany Cartwright (his estranged wife), were let go from the show “Vanderpump Rules” following a discovery that Schroeder had attempted to falsely accuse a former castmate, Faith Stowers, of a crime she did not commit in 2018. After this was brought to light, Schroeder expressed his apologies on social media.

On “The Tamron Hall Show,” she apologized once more, expressing her journey towards accountability. “I didn’t realize that what wasn’t an issue of race for me, might be for someone else because I was viewing the situation through my lens as a White privileged woman, while they were experiencing it from their perspective as a Black person,” Schroeder explained. Essentially, she acknowledged that since it was an issue of race for them, it was indeed an issue of race. This is a lesson she has come to understand.

Schroeder acknowledged her role in the current predicament, stating, “I’m the one responsible for this situation. Many seem to have pushed me to concentrate on cancel culture or if I’m a victim, but that’s not how I genuinely feel.”

After getting married to Beau Clark, a former castmate on Vanderpump Rules, Stassi Schroeder (also known as Stassi Schroeder Clark) has since become a two-time New York Times bestselling author, with books like “Next Level Basic” and “Off With My Head”. She also hosts podcasts such as “Stassi” and “The Good The Bad The Baby”, and embarked on live tours in 2019, 2020, and 2023. Her next book, titled “You Can’t Have It All”, is set for release in September 2024.

As someone who has spent years immersed in the world of reality television, I am particularly intrigued by the latest development in this field: “Stassi Says,” a new show created by Schroeder and former Vanderpump Rules producers Erin Foye and Jenna Rosenfeld. With my extensive background in the industry, I can appreciate the pedigree behind this project, and I am excited to see what it will bring to the table.
