Shah Rukh Khan says he is ‘fooling you all’ with his signature arms out pose, REVEALS how it was invented

As an ardent fan of Shah Rukh Khan, I have always been captivated by his charismatic presence and iconic moves on the silver screen. However, it was truly fascinating to learn about the origin of his signature open-arms pose from none other than the legendary choreographer Saroj Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan has been captivating the affection of his fans through his acting talents. Yet, the King Khan is also recognized for a unique pose that leaves his supporters swooning – his signature open arms stance. This timeless gesture has always been a powerful way to instantly leave people speechless and weak-kneed. However, have you ever wondered how this iconic move came to be? In an interview, the actor shared the story behind it.

During a chat at the 77th Locarno Film Festival, the actor disclosed that it was senior Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan who created the pose he was known for. He began by expressing his bewilderment, saying “I’m not sure, I don’t know.” Yet, he admitted that in Indian cinema during the 90s, actors were expected to master one particular move, which was referred to as ‘the dip’.

As an ardent admirer, I found myself utterly spellbound when Shah Rukh Khan gracefully demonstrated the intricate ‘dip’ dance move on stage. However, the Dunki star confessed that he couldn’t perform it himself. This revelation left me feeling rather embarrassed for him and all through the night, I tried to master this very same step.

The following day of the filming, he encountered choreographer Saroj Khan early morning. He informed her he was prepared for their session. However, she pointed out that since he wasn’t comfortable with the dip move, he should only stand and stretch his arms instead. Yet, the action star persisted, asserting he could manage the dance step. But she countered, stating that it wouldn’t suit him well visually.

In response to her guidance, Shah Rukh Khan opted to bypass the dip and extend his arms instead. Subsequently, he ventured to another sequence where executing the dance move proved challenging for him once again. Consequently, he proposed to the choreographer that he should amplify the open arms pose. Given his frequent arm extensions, he found it necessary to perform this maneuver with greater intensity.

He explained, “Then I gave it a scientific twist,” jokingly admitting that he began instructing others to maintain their right leg at a specific angle and assume a certain posture. “In truth, I’m only kidding you all. It’s nothing significant, just an arms-out position, but…” he concluded with a smile.
