As a longtime fan of gripping TV series that keep me on the edge of my seat, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the return of Tracker for its second season. However, hearing about Robin Weigert’s departure as Teddi Bruin has left me slightly concerned. Don’t get me wrong; I adore Abby McEnany and the character Velma Bruin, but the absence of Teddi might create a noticeable void in the storyline.

As I eagerly anticipate the premiere of Tracker’s second season, it’s unfortunate to report that one of our beloved cast members, Robin Weigert who portrayed Teddi Bruin, will not be returning as a series regular. According to TVLine, her character won’t be part of the main storyline in Season 2. However, neither CBS nor 20th Television have disclosed how they plan to explain Teddi’s departure from the show, leaving us curious about the future of this intriguing character.

In good news, despite Weigert leaving Tracker, Abby McEnany, who portrays Velma Bruin, Teddi’s wife in the series, will continue her role for the upcoming season. Notably, Elwood Reid, an executive producer of Tracker, revealed to TVLine that Velma will kick off the new season, embarking on a captivating journey with a plot point foreshadowed by Reenie’s character in the last few episodes. It remains unclear how they plan to incorporate Velma while excluding Teddi at this stage, but some speculate that Teddi might meet an untimely end.

Alongside McEnany and several other cast members, Justin Hartley, portraying the main character Colter Shaw (a solitary survivalist helping police track down criminals and missing individuals across the country), will be back for the show’s next season. Additionally, Jensen Ackles is set to resume his popular role in Tracker Season 2. During the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour, Hartley and Elwood Reid spoke about this, expressing their excitement. They commented on the topic saying:

“We managed to bring back Jensen (Ackles), who is joining us again. We’re really enjoying this turn of events, it makes for an excellent plotline. Previously, I worked with Jensen on a different project, and Justin is friends with him. It feels like working with family. When we reach out to him, he simply replies, ‘Where and when?’ and he’s there. He’s just that kind of reliable person.”

Robin Weigert, famously recognized for her role as Calamity Jane in “Deadwood,” played a significant part in “Tracker.” However, it seems her departure from the series might not significantly alter the narrative. Teddi and Velma have admirably handled their roles, supporting Colter Shaw in his altruistic deeds. Yet, one may wonder how the story will resolve Teddi’s character arc. Could it be that “Tracker” decides to write off her character? The first season finale hinted at some intrigue with disclosures about Colter’s father and sister, but nothing suggestive of Teddi’s character development, as both handlers seemed to take a back seat in the plotline.
