As a devoted follower of the enchanting world of music, I find myself deeply saddened and profoundly affected by the untimely demise of Haniya Aslam. Her ethereal voice and captivating guitar skills were not just a melody to my ears but a soothing balm to my soul.

On August 11, it was sadly announced that Pakistani musician Haniya Aslam, known for her work with Coke Studio and the duo Zeb-Haniya, has passed away. Her cousin and former band member, Zeb Bangash, along with lyricist-singer Swanand Kirkire, shared this heartbreaking news on social media.

Recently, renowned lyricist and singer Swanand Kirkire posted on Instagram about his final interaction with Haniya Aslam. In a poignant message, he confirmed some sad news and revealed that they had been collaborating on an album which, unfortunately, will not be completed.

“My beloved Haniya Aslam (@citrushaniya) has tragically passed away. She experienced a cardiac arrest and found peace in the night’s embrace. Our connection, particularly during our work together on @dewarists 2, was unique. A conversation we had only a few days ago is now my most treasured memory. There remains an uncompleted album that we were crafting together.”

Kirkire subsequently reached out to Zeb, Aslam’s relative, and penned, “@ZebBangash, sending warm thoughts your way, along with those of your family. May divine power sustain you through this hardship. Haniya, I look forward to our reunion. Until then, your beautiful voice and enchanting guitar tunes will resonate within us, serving as a poignant reminder of the sorrow we feel over your absence.”
