As a gamer who’s lived through the golden age of hip-hop, this news about Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg‘s upcoming album “Missionary” has me pumped! I remember when their collaboration on “The Chronic” was revolutionary back in the day, and now they’re teaming up again after all these years. With Sting joining the roster, it seems like we’re in for a wild ride of unexpected musical fusion.
Dr. Dre has shared that they, along with Snoop Dogg, plan to unveil their new album, titled “Missionary,” as early as November this year.
In his latest conversation with Entertainment Tonight, the legendary hip-hop artist revealed that he’s presently juggling the blending process for a collaborative project. “I aimed for 14 tracks, but Snoop insists on 16 – you feel the tension? [Dre mimics a boxing motion],” Dre explained. “Right now, I’m working on the eleventh mix, and the deadline is September 1st to ensure a November release.” Furthermore, he hinted at having recorded vocals for some of the tracks, though he anticipates only one of those songs might make it to the final version.
On the upcoming album, music enthusiasts will undoubtedly appreciate the brilliance of Dre and Snoop. Additionally, they can look forward to a remarkable collaboration from another esteemed artist. As Dre hinted, “There’s a track featuring Sting on it. I have to admit, this album boasts an incredible lineup of artists.” However, he seemed to regret sharing that information.
He confidently declared, “This time around, you’ll see a new depth in my lyrics and music. I believe this is some of the finest work I’ve produced in my career… I’m not kidding.” Dre went on, “The musicians I’m collaborating with currently, along with the writers in the studio, are truly exceptional… Snoop is thrilled about it, and so am I. I have high hopes that people will really appreciate this new work.”
