Brad Pitt Explains Why He Feels His Acting Career Is on Its “Last Leg”

As a longtime admirer of Brad Pitt‘s illustrious career, I find his recent reflections both profound and inspiring. Much like the seasons he alludes to, his journey through Hollywood has been marked by phases of discovery, growth, and transformation.

Brad Pitt appears to believe that he’s approaching the final phase of his acting career, yet this isn’t due to the assumptions fans may have.

In a recent joint interview with George Clooney for GQ, the Academy Award winner discussed the significance of a statement he’s made before about his professional path in the future.

Pitt clarified, “I was referring to life’s seasons. Initially, it’s a journey away from the comfort of the Ozarks. It’s full of exploration, excitement, intrigue, pain, and difficulty. But when you move up, you enter a new phase that involves responsibilities and accountability. Yet, this phase also offers opportunities, joy, and working with esteemed individuals.”

The actor, who is now 60 years old, expressed his thoughts about this stage in his life, saying, “Now it’s this period. I wonder, what will these remaining years bring? I can see my parents becoming more frail in their 80s, as George explained. But then I think of Frank Gehry, who is 95 and still creating beautiful art. He has a wonderful family too. I believe that’s the secret to staying creative and loving life.”

Back in 2022, I found myself pondering about the next stage of my gaming journey, acknowledging that I might be nearing the end. I guess you could say I’m in my twilight years as a gamer.

Clooney pointed out that they’re fortunate to have the ability to shape their future, also mentioning that their line of work doesn’t compel them to retire at a specific age.

Yet, when asked about the concern of job offers dwindling due to age on the telephone, Clooney suggested that there are essentially two strategies an actor can adopt in such circumstances.

“The actor from ‘Ticket to Paradise’ stated that if one chooses to remain as they were at age 35 and adopt a more gentle perspective, the phone calls for roles might stop. However, if one is open to sliding down the call list a bit and taking on intriguing character roles, then one must accept the idea that death could be imminent.”

He went on saying, “I’ll approach people and they might think I’m younger than expected. And I often respond, ‘I’m 63, can’t you tell?’ Life is like that, always surprising us. The challenge lies in accepting change, a hurdle many actors struggle with, including myself and you [Pitt], by clinging onto what once was.”
