GTA V’s Michael and Trevor actors fan flames of surprise DLC release

As a die-hard Grand Theft Auto fan who has spent countless hours navigating the chaotic streets of Los Santos and blasting my way through missions with Michael, Trevor, and Franklin, I can’t help but feel an exhilarating mix of anticipation and nostalgia upon seeing the recent tease from Ned Luke and Steven Ogg.

In terms of voice acting for Grand Theft Auto games, many actors deliver performances that surpass typical video game roles. These talkative characters (except for you, Claude) have significantly enriched Rockstar’s automotive journey by bringing in big names like Ray Liotta, Samuel L. Jackson, and Michael Madsen to contribute their top-tier talents.

Nevertheless, it was Ned Luke, Steven Ogg, and Shawn Fonteno who truly gained recognition after lending their voices to Michael, Trevor, and Franklin in GTA V. It’s been eleven years since the final credits rolled on GTA V, and while the game continues through GTA Online, there are still many who miss the chance for a single-player DLC expansion.

Steven Ogg and Ned Luke tease big GTA news

Despite the odd public outburst against the franchise from Ogg, the trio has remained close to the world of GTA. Then again, with the game being the most profitable entertainment product of all time and GTA 6 expected to top that, it would be wise to keep Rockstar on your side in case there’s a chance for another paycheque.

Currently, Luke and Ogg are hinting at something significant for the Grand Theft Auto universe. They recently collaborated on X (previously Twitter), responding to a post that reads “August 16th…Stay Tuned“. In response, Luke posted a picture of him and Ogg with a five-star caption. Since ASUS ROG is tagged in the tweet, some spectators are speculating it could be just an advertisement.

Others are taking this snippet and running with it, guessing that the five stars could be something to do with GTA V. Responding to Luke, one fan cheered, “Final GTA online DLC I bet,” and another added, “Please for the love of all things pure in this world let it be a GTA 5 story DLC with a big hurrah to these 3 characters.”

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but wonder what lies ahead for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) Online when GTA 6 is set to release next year. It would truly be an unforgettable moment if the original GTA Online were to make a grand exit with the trio of games. Over these years, Rockstar has consistently delivered exciting updates for GTA Online, and while we’ve had subtle hints about the Grand Theft Auto V protagonists in some of those updates, it would be nothing short of thrilling to see their story conclude with a massive update that ties everything together neatly.

Ogg recently revealed a little more about the canned “Agent Trevor” DLC, which sounds like a cross between GTA and Rockstar’s axed Agent game. Even though files mentioning zombies and aliens hint at other axed storylines prove a LOT of single-player content was left on the floor, we don’t imagine Rockstar would put the money or resources into resurrecting the idea.

Others have expanded upon Luke’s hint and speculate that the duo could reappear in Grand Theft Auto 6. While we’ve encountered Lucia and her partner, referred to as Jason, so far, fans are eager for GTA V’s main characters to make a comeback in some form.

In December 2023, we got a single glimpse of GTA 6, and with Gamescom approaching, fans are eagerly waiting for another immersive experience that might cause another internet breakdown. The hints dropped by Luke and Ogg suggest something is coming up, but if it’s just an advertisement from ASUS, we might toss our copies of GTA V out the window in frustration.
