K-Pop Academy lets you live out your idol-management fantasies, available now

  • K-Pop Academy is a newly-released game from Hyperbeard studios
  • It lets you manage and train up your own K-Pop supergroup
  • That includes building your own custom training facility, planning meals and more

As a gamer with a soft spot for music and management simulations, I must say that the release of K-Pop Academy by Hyperbeard studios has certainly piqued my interest! Being an avid follower of the K-pop scene, it’s fascinating to see this genre finally getting its own dedicated game. The idea of creating and training my very own K-Pop supergroup is something I’ve always fantasized about, so having a virtual platform for that fantasy is truly exciting!

One unexpected cultural phenomenon that has taken over significantly in the last two decades is the almost uncontested reign of K-Pop. From girl groups to boy bands, the South Korean music scene and industry has become a defining factor for numerous fans. If you’re among those who are keen on K-Pop, perhaps Hyperbeard’s latest management simulation game, K-Pop Academy, is just what you’ve been eagerly anticipating?

From the title, it’s clear that a K-Pop Academy offers an opportunity for you to form your very own musical powerhouse. This involves constructing a training ground, participating in mini-games, and even preparing dishes tailored to the tastes of your trainees, with the aim of elevating their talents and skills.

Although it might seem typical among management simulations, that doesn’t automatically make it less appealing. Moreover, since there’s no real-life band involved, this game can explore more progressive elements, such as being more inclusive towards LGBTQ+ individuals – a feature that traditionally cautious music corporations would probably not approve in an officially licensed game.

Big on branding

Indeed, it could be argued that their devotion to K-Pop groups might also serve as a potential drawback, as fans are often incredibly loyal almost to an extreme degree. However, one may wonder if they would be more drawn to a game featuring unique characters instead? As of now, K-Pop Academy has been released, so we’ll just have to observe and find out how it fares in the market.
