‘Dark Matter’ Renewed for Second Season at Apple TV+

As a fan who has always been captivated by the intricacies of time travel and alternate realities, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the renewal of Dark Matter for a second season! Having devoured Blake Crouch’s novel and been left on the edge of my seat during the first season, I can’t wait to see where this mind-bending journey takes us next.

As a gaming enthusiast diving deep into the world of Apple TV+, I’m excited to share that they’re putting extra effort into expanding one of their captivating sci-fi shows.

The host has revived the series “Dark Matter,” featuring Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly, for another round. This decision was made just shy of two months following the finale of its initial nine-episode season in late June. (Paraphrased)

In the world of gaming, I’ve found myself immersed in “Dark Matter,” a series adapted from Blake Crouch’s hit novel, where he takes on the role of showrunner. As Jason Dessen, a physics professor, family man, and Chicago resident, I find myself snatched away from my ordinary life and thrust into an alternate reality that eerily resembles mine. This parallel universe is filled with challenges as I navigate through it, trying to figure out how to return home, all while someone is working hard to keep me trapped. Alongside me in this journey are Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, and Oakes Fegley.

“I want to express my gratitude to everyone who joined us for season one, whether you’re already a book fan or new to our series – and let’s not forget our partners at Apple and Sony, the fantastic Matt Tolmach as my producing partner, our incredibly talented cast and crew, the welcoming city of Chicago, and all who contributed in making this first season a success.

Fellow EP Tolmach expressed, “Bringing Dark Matter to fruition has been a cherished ambition for me. I’m immensely proud to witness Blake’s vision unfold and touch the hearts of numerous viewers. It’s heartening to see the Dessens’ adventure strike a chord with audiences, and we eagerly anticipate delving deeper into this world – and others – in season two. Heartfelt appreciation goes out to Apple TV+, Sony, and our exceptional cast and team.”

Among the array of science fiction and speculative shows on Apple TV+, Dark Matter is one of them. It joins a diverse lineup that includes For All Mankind, Severance, Foundation, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Silo, Invasion, and more recently, Sunny.

“Matt Cherniss, who leads programming at Apple TV+, expressed his excitement about carrying on our joint venture with Blake Crouch, Sony, and the entire creative unit, including Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Connelly, and others. The upcoming season promises to enthrall audiences with unexpected plots and deeper exploration into multiverse mysteries.”

Crouch and Tolmach executive produce Dark Matter with Edgerton and Jacquelyn Ben-Zekry.
