Modern Familys Julie Bowen Reveals the Truth About Rumored Feud With Sofa Vergara

Modern Familys Julie Bowen Reveals the Truth About Rumored Feud With Sofa Vergara

As a devoted fan of Modern Family, I can attest to the joy and camaraderie that the show brought into our living rooms every week. However, it was always disheartening to see the tabloid media concocting feuds between the cast members, particularly the supposed rivalry between Julie Bowen and Sofía Vergara.

Working on ABC’s hit show “Modern Family” seemed like it should have been a delightful and funny journey, and for the most part, it was. However, the tabloid media often fabricated feuds among the show’s stars, particularly between Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara, the two leading actresses. During the show’s run, stories about a rivalry between them were frequently published in the press, suggesting that the stars disliked each other and were constantly competing during filming. However, according to Bowen, these claims were entirely unfounded.

In a recent interview on the 90210MG podcast, Julie Bowen discussed the supposed rivalry she had with her co-star and longtime friend Sofía Vergara. Bowen compared this reported rivalry to the dynamic between Betty and Veronica from the classic comic, suggesting that it stemmed from a sexist viewpoint that only one woman in a group can be successful at once. According to Bowen, they often competed for attention due to this perspective. She stated:

“In the show Modern Family, reporters often tried to portray me and Sofia as if we were a modern-day Betty and Veronica duo. They seemed intent on creating a rivalry between us, implying that there was mutual disdain, when in reality, that wasn’t the case.”

There’s a belief that only one woman can be content at once, but I was thinking, ‘Oh no, I adore Sofía. I appreciate how distinct we are. She is hilarious, modest, bold, and she embraces life with enthusiasm, dancing, enjoying cakes, and all sorts of things.’

It was truly disheartening to see the media continue spreading that story.

During the discussion, Julie Bowen clarified and put an end to any rumors suggesting rivalry with Sofia Vergara. She openly admitted that she didn’t view Vergara as a competitor but rather learned a great deal from working alongside her for 11 seasons. While filming numerous scenes together, Bowen explained that Vergara showed her what it means to be a truly powerful woman who is unapologetically herself.

Julie Bowen Has Since Reunited With Her Modern Family Co-Stars… Sort Of

Only five short years have passed since “Modern Family” concluded its run after an impressive 11 seasons, and fans are clamoring for a reunion. Several cast members, such as Sofía Vergara, Nolan Gould (Luke Dunphy), and Ed O’Neil (Jay Pritchett) have expressed their interest in resuming the series, and some of the actors have even started working on it again.

In a recent set of advertisements for WhatsApp, the beloved characters from the TV show Modern Family – Julie Bowen, Ty Burell (as Phil Dunphy), Eric Stonestreet (Cameron Tucker), and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell Pritchett) – returned to our screens. These commercials, set in the recognizable Dunphy living room where many talking head scenes were filmed, offer a glimpse into the future of the Pritchett/Dunphy family.

Unfortunately, Modern Family fans will have to wait a while before seeing their favorite stars reunite on screen. As it stands, it’s still premature for them to come together, given that each actor is thriving in their individual careers. For instance, Sofía Vergara, who was considered a rival by some, has been recently nominated for an Emmy for her outstanding performance in the popular Netflix crime series Griselda. Following this recognition, Vergara is joining forces once more with Griselda creator Eric Newman on a new project.
