On August 21st, Rajkummar Rao shared a collage some time ago, blending characters from ‘Stree 2’, his latest horror-comedy, with a still from the biographical drama ‘Srikanth’. He playfully labeled this unconventional mix as “Streekanth”.
On his Instagram, he labeled the post as when ‘Stree’ and ‘Srikanth’ unite, coining the term ‘#Streekanth’. To make it more melodious, he played the track ‘Aayi Nai’ from the movie in the backdrop.

Just a few moments after the post was published, Srikanth’s director Tushar Hiranandani expressed, “That’s a great idea, buddy!” Joining in the fun, Raj responded, “@tusharhiranandani You’re the one who came up with it, buddy!” To which, the filmmaker replied, “@rajkummar_rao Alright, let’s make the announcement then.”
Besides that, Varun Dhawan and Manushi Chhillar posted laughing emojis. Ayushmann Khurrana shared raised hands along with a red heart emoji. Abhishek Banerjee responded with fire emojis. (In this context, “posted” and “shared” can be interchanged to mean the same thing.)

The movie is currently playing well in cinemas. It made its debut earlier this week, on August 14, 2024, coinciding with Independence Day. Both audiences and critics have highly praised it. Moreover, it’s been making a big impact at the box office as well. After an unprecedented extended weekend of 228 crore rupees, the horror-comedy earned another 25 crore rupees on its sixth day, raising its total gross in India to 253 crore rupees net.
