Glen Powell, Newly Minted Movie Star, Is Headed To TV Next And He Just Kicked Off His First Day On Set

As a long-time admirer of Glen Powell‘s dynamic and versatile acting prowess, I must say that his journey through Hollywood has been nothing short of thrilling. From his electrifying performances in blockbuster films like “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Twisters,” to his hilarious turns in comedies such as “Set It Up” and “Hit Man,” Powell has proven time and again that he’s a force to be reckoned with.

As a gamer, I can’t help but feel like I’m on an endless level-up with Glen Powell leading the charge. This guy has been dominating the movie scene for quite some time now, gracing our screens in movies like Top Gun: Maverick, Anybody But You, Hit Man, and more recently, the pulse-pounding Twisters. And it’s looking like he’s not about to hit pause anytime soon! He’s even venturing back to TV and just started his first day of production there. It’s a non-stop adventure with Glen Powell!

The Texas native is starring on the upcoming Hulu comedy series Chad Powers. Glen Powell also co-created and co-wrote the pilot with Michael Waldron, according to Variety and, as if that’s not enough, he’s also executive producing. This will mark the star’s first live-action television role since Fox’s Scream Queens, which is one of the best horror TV shows on Hulu. Powell celebrated the first day of production by reposting a photo to his Instagram Stories from the forthcoming show’s official IG account, and it seems he was as ready as ever to let the games begin:

Unlike his character Chad Radwell from Scream Queens, Chad Powers is modeled after the title character created by Eli Manning for the ESPN+ docuseries called Eli’s Places. In real life, Eli Manning disguised himself as a football prospect during Penn State tryouts to explore the walk-on process in college football, and that’s how Chad Powers came into existence. The show shares a similar storyline, with the star of Set It Up playing Russ Holiday, a quarterback who pretends to be Chad Powers to join a struggling team undercover.

Currently, no release date has been set for “Chad Powers”, but since production has commenced, it seems possible that the show might air as soon as next year. Whether the wait will definitely be rewarding isn’t certain, but it can be said that the concept sounds entertaining. I’m looking forward to seeing the leading man display his comedic talents even more, particularly after his amusing (and heartfelt) portrayal in “Hit Man”.

Beyond what we’ve discussed, it seems probable that Mr. Powell will carry on his film projects in the coming times. One of the movies he’s planning is the suspenseful revenge thriller titled “Huntington“, which promises to be intense. Additionally, he has TV roles lined up as well. For instance, you can catch him on Family Guy. He’s scheduled to star in the upcoming Halloween special, airing during the 2024 television schedule, and will be accessible to Hulu subscribers.

Although it may take some time yet, fans are still buzzing from the success of Chad Powers‘ breakout film, Twisters. The movie became a blockbuster hit that summer, despite the omission of the controversial kiss scene we can only imagine. It’s exciting to witness the actor’s ongoing success in Hollywood, and I have no doubt he’ll deliver an outstanding performance as Powers in the upcoming series.

In the interim, enthusiasts have plenty to explore as they anticipate updates about Chad Powers. One engaging option is to check out Glen Powell’s television and movie roles that are currently streaming for viewing pleasure.
