Patrick Chu Upped to Head of Film & TV at Annapurna

As a dedicated movie enthusiast with a keen interest in the ever-evolving landscape of storytelling, I am thrilled by this latest development at Megan Ellison’s Annapurna. The strategic hires and promotions, particularly the elevation of Patrick Chu to head of film and television, promise an exciting future for this esteemed production house.

Megan Ellison’s Annapurna has made some significant staffing changes and promotions, with Patrick Chu being promoted to the role of Head of Film and Television.

Hector Sanchez recently became a part of our company in the role of Interactive Media and New Media Resident, while Paul Doyle has also joined us as Strategy Head. Both these newcomers previously worked at Epic Games; Sanchez headed up the Publishing Team and the Unreal Engine games division, and Doyle oversaw the Corporate Strategy team.

“I can’t wait to get back to Annapurna, the perfect nesting ground for tales, and contribute to shaping the future of storytelling using Annapurna’s film, TV, interactive, animation, and theater prowess. I’m thrilled to be returning to Annapurna, a place where I helped birth the interactive division back in 2016, with Nathan Gary now leading as the company’s president.” (Annapurna Interactive co-founder Nathan Gary currently serves as the president of the company.)

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve learned some exciting news about Annapurna! Their latest live-action project, “Nightbitch,” is all set to make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. In recent times, Annapurna has been responsible for some amazing works such as the Oscar-nominated animated film, “Nimona,” and series like Amazon Prime Video’s “Dead Ringers.” So, get ready for another captivating ride from this dynamic studio!

Under Chu, film and TV will exist under one umbrella. They were previously separate departments.

Ellison stated, “Some of the most thrilling prospects in storytelling call for a unified strategy combining linear and interactive elements from the start. As technologies merge, we’re looking forward to having Hector, Paul, and Patrick guide us through this transformative period.”
