Shah Rukh Khan is 'last of the stars', Salman Khan is NOT underutilized; opines Mukesh Chhabra: 'Social media mein 2-4 log woh Chintu Bablu...'

As a lifestyle expert with over three decades of immersion in the Indian film industry, I find myself in a unique position to opine on the subject of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, two titans who have captivated audiences across generations.

In simpler terms, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are two massive figures in India’s film world who have gained not only the adoration of countless fans but have also put the Hindi cinema industry under the spotlight. During a recent conversation, renowned casting director Mukesh Chhabra shared thoughts on the notion that Salman is an actor who hasn’t been fully utilized, and he referred to Shah Rukh as the ‘last remaining star.’

As a die-hard fan, I had the privilege of chatting with Ranveer Allahbadia, and during our conversation, he brought up Salman Khan’s remarkable legacy and the unforgettable acts he delivered in several of his blockbuster films. When I inquired if he felt that bhaijaan was being underutilized as an actor, the casting director responded, “Not at all, he has given countless outstanding performances.”

Chhabra, known for directing Sushant Singh Rajput’s Dil Bechara, shares some outstanding performances by the actor such as Baaghi, Patthar Ke Phool, Tere Naam, Love, Hum Aapke Hain Koun. He expresses that there is no other actor who could match his talent in these films. Pondering on this opinion, the casting director further explains that when the ‘big brother’ of Bollywood wants to act, he already has – evidenced by numerous iconic Hindi movies he has been part of.

Speaking about the stories circulating around the famous actor Mukesh Chhabra, he mentioned that certain individuals on social media are crafting these tales. He further explained that no one can emulate the “straightforward and sincere” character he portrayed in Bajrangi Bhaijaan or even come close to his roles in films like No Entry, Partner, etc. He expressed a desire for more movies like these, stating that they were successful despite lacking any promotional strategies, unlike what’s common today.

Later in the conversation, Mukesh shared his thoughts on Shah Rukh Khan being referred to as the ‘last of the stars’. When asked about this perspective, he affirmed it. Chhabra also disclosed that some might wonder why he made this statement, but for him, it’s a fact. He explained, “It’s believed that the universe is vast and there can be numerous stars, yet he will continue to shine the brightest.” He further noted that while many are excelling in their fields, no one can match up to ‘The’ Shah Rukh Khan.

Regarding the dispute between outsiders and established stars in Bollywood, Mukesh emphasized that Shah Rukh Khan, or King Khan as he’s known, clearly settles this debate by being at the top. After working with him on Jawan, Chhabra explained how witnessing SRK’s dedication leaves you awestruck. He pointed out that while other actors might not have to work so tirelessly, SRK does because of his immense passion for his craft. In essence, Chhabra expressed that one can’t help but admire and aspire to be like him.

Currently, Shah Rukh Khan is preparing to start filming his upcoming action movie, King, later this year. This project is directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by both Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand. Notably, it will be the first major role for Shah Rukh’s daughter, Suhana Khan, following her debut in Zoya Akhtar’s OTT series, The Archies. Additionally, Abhishek Bachchan is anticipated to portray a villain in this film.
