Levi’s Readies Special Made-in-Japan 1922 501XX Jeans

As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours crafting digital denim in various virtual fashion games, I can tell you that this Levi’s 1922 501XX jean is a dream come true! With its rich history and attention to detail, it feels like I’ve finally managed to level up my in-game character’s wardrobe to the max.

Following the delivery of their complete Spring/Summer 2024 “Made in Japan” line in February, Levi’s is back with a new limited edition Japanese design – the 1922 501XX model.

The silhouette, crafted using Levi’s Vintage Clothing’s Shrink-to-Fit plain selvedge denim, is a “stitch-by-stitch” reproduction of a pair of historical Levi’s 501 jeans from 1922, marking the year that Levi’s, the denim titan, first incorporated belt loops into their flagship design. Upon closer inspection, the buttons on both the front and back waistline have been maintained as suspender loops, while the center-back cinch offers an adjustable fit. Lastly, multiple visible rivets harmonize with the single-needle arcuate drawing sewn onto both back pockets, completing the details.

As a long-time fan of Levi’s and someone who has spent decades collecting various styles of their denim, I find the latest design of the 501 model to be particularly intriguing. The addition of an “Atlas” patch that resembles a map of the Earth adds a unique touch, while the small stitches down the leg give it a subtle yet noticeable detail. These changes bring a fresh twist to a classic design that has been a staple in my wardrobe for years. I can’t wait to see what other innovative designs Levi’s comes up with in the future.

On August 29th, exclusive members of Levi’s Red Tab program can securely pre-order their jeans ahead of the public release on August 30th. Only 800 pieces will be available for this limited drop, so be sure to check out the design showcased in the gallery above before they sell out!
