Recently, in an interview, the star of “Heeramandi” shed light on this matter and stated, “In this profession, it’s typically the male leads who decide with whom they wish to collaborate, not the female leads.”

In an interview with Zoom, Manisha Koirala disclosed that following her work in ‘Dil Se’, she collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan on a film titled ‘Guddu’. However, this particular project is not widely recognized. She went on to explain that in the movie industry, it’s often the leading actors who get to choose their co-stars, rather than the actresses – a statement that subtly suggested Shah Rukh Khan’s selection process for roles.

In mentioning her top-notch roles, Manisha happily includes Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se, Bombay, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Khamoshi in her list of distinguished performances.

Interestingly, even though Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala’s film is highly regarded now, it didn’t fare well at the box office when initially released. In fact, director Mani Ratnam has attributed his less than fluent Hindi language as a possible reason for its underperformance.
