Pink has been announced as the performer for the 2024 Democratic National Convention, preceding Kamala Harris’ speech when she accepts the nomination, according to the Associated Press.
As a longtime music enthusiast who has attended countless concerts over the years, I can confidently say that the lineup at Chicago’s United Arena this week is one for the books. With artists like Lil Jon, Stevie Wonder, Maren Morris, John Legend, and more gracing the stage, it’s clear that this event promises an unforgettable experience. I’ve been fortunate enough to see many of these acts in person before, but the sheer diversity and talent of this lineup makes me eager to be there myself. Music has always been a source of joy and inspiration for me, and I can’t wait to witness these incredible performers come together to create magic on stage. This is definitely one concert I won’t want to miss!
Pink is set to make her debut in a significant political concert, marking her first major foray into political performances. Known for her advocacy on women’s rights, the “Just Give Me A Reason” singer has been vocal about her views. In 2022, she expressed her disapproval towards those who supported the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, telling her supporters, “Stop listening to my music and get lost.”
On the third evening, it was my pleasure to join Legend and Sheila E. as they honored the home state of Minnesota’s vice presidential candidate, Tim Walz, by performing Prince’s iconic song “Let’s Go Crazy.” Born in the very heart of Minneapolis, Minnesota, this legendary artist continues to inspire us all.

Stevie Wonder unexpectedly showed up in Chicago on a Wednesday night, treating fans to a live rendition of his famous track “Higher Ground.” Addressing the audience, he stated, “This is an occasion worth recalling for your kids: where you were and what you did. As we navigate between history’s suffering and future hopes, let’s opt for bravery over comfort. It’s high time we exercise our right to vote.”
During the second night, rapper Lil Jon performed his 2013 hit “Turn Down for What”, followed by Georgia casting their votes for Harris. Through the course of Wednesday evening, DJ Cassidy carefully selected a series of tunes to accompany the presentation of each state and territory during the delegate count.
Music played a significant role in Harris’ election endeavor, as Beyoncé permitted her group to utilize the song “Freedom” for her groundbreaking presidential bid. This song was later incorporated into a fresh advertisement featuring Harris and Walz, which debuted during the Democratic National Convention on Monday.
