WATCH: Hema Malini gets uncomfortable as a female fan tries to touch her for picture; netizens react strongly

As an ardent admirer of Hema Malini’s illustrious career spanning over five decades, I find her recent assertiveness at a political event utterly respectable and commendable. Her life experiences, having graced the silver screen since the 1960s, have undoubtedly honed her ability to maintain personal boundaries, even in the face of fanatic admirers.

At a political gathering, former actress-turned-politician Hema Malini showed signs of annoyance when a supporter tried to touch her shoulder during a meeting. A clip went viral showing the moment she politely but firmly asked the fan to keep their hands off while they took a photo together. This incident prompted a variety of responses online, with some applauding her for standing up for herself and others expressing support for her actions.

In a video, actress Hema Malini was spotted standing with singer Anup Jalota and another woman. As they readied for a photo, the woman tried to grab Hema around the waist. Seeming uneasy and displeased, Hema quickly moved the woman’s hand off her. A man stepped in at that moment, leading the woman away from Hema.

As an ardent admirer, I couldn’t help but notice the swift responses from fellow netizens. One of them put it eloquently, “Touch is a deeply personal act, not everyone feels comfortable with it. That’s why in our cultural upbringing, we opt for Namaste instead of shaking hands. A multitude of energy transfers occur with every touch, so one must always exercise caution.” Another user added, “She handled the situation gracefully by taking the photo, but I believe it’s best to refrain from touching her hand next time.”

1. One person said, “Regardless of their fame, please don’t touch them unless you have their consent and they have explicitly invited touch.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been honored to serve as the Member of Parliament for Mathura once again, marking my third consecutive term. In the latest Lok Sabha elections, I triumphed with a resounding victory over my opponent from the Congress party, Mukesh Dhangar, securing a substantial lead of approximately 293,407 votes.

Hema commenced her acting journey in 1963 through the Tamil movie “Idhu Sathiyam,” and later secured her first leading role in “Sapno Ka Saudagar” (1968). Since then, she has graced numerous Hindi films such as “Seeta Aur Geeta,” “Amir Garib,” “Dharmatma,” “Sholay,” “Dream Girl,” “The Burning Train,” “Baghban,” and “Aarakshan.” Her latest performance was in the romantic drama film “Shimla Mirchi” (2020), helmed by Ramesh Sippy.
