I’m packing my bags and jetting off to sunny Italy, joining a crowd of fellow gamers for amfAR’s yearly charity event coinciding with the 81st Venice International Film Festival. It’s going to be an exciting time!
Kate Beckinsale is slated to emcee an upscale charity event, where Kelly Rowland, a consistent supporter of amfAR for years, and Rumer Willis, who transitioned from acting to singing, will put on performances. As was earlier mentioned, Richard Gere will receive amfAR’s Inspiration Award and Mohammed Al Turki, the CEO of Red Sea Film Festival and a well-known philanthropist in the film industry, will be granted an award for exceptional leadership in charity work.
The individuals responsible for overseeing the event are Jomana Al Rashid, Achille Boroli, Willem Dafoe, Matteo Fantacchiotti, Alejandra Gere, Andrei Gillott, Harry Goodwins, Lucien Laviscount, Julian Lennon, Catherine O’Hara, Caroline Scheufele, David Tait, Emir Uyar, Jon Watts, as well as amfAR board members Tony Mancilla and Vin Roberti. Additionally, the co-chairs of the amfAR board are T. Ryan Greenawalt and Kevin McClatchy.
The amfAR Venezia event will be happening on September 1st at Hangar Nicelli, located on the Lido.
