As a fervent admirer of cinema that transcends boundaries, I find myself deeply moved by the recent development surrounding Srikanth, the biographical drama based on the life of industrialist Srikanth Bolla. The special sign language screening of this film is not just a testament to the director Tushar Hiranandani‘s vision, but also a significant step towards inclusivity in our industry.
Earlier this year, in May, the movie “Srikanth” featuring Rajkummar Rao, Alaya F, and Jyotika was released. Recently, a few months later, there was a special screening of the film with sign language for the hearing-impaired, an update shared by director Tushar Hiranandani. In the biographical drama, Rao’s portrayal in the life story of industrialist Srikanth Bolla was highly acclaimed.
On August 22nd, Tushar Hiranandani, our director, posted a brief video on Instagram showcasing the Indian Sign Language screening of the film Srikanth. He expressed his gratitude in his caption to Secretary Rajesh Aggarwal from the Ministry of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. This ministry falls under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The reason for our joy is that Srikanth is now accessible to all, thanks to Mr. Aggarwal’s efforts.

Shortly following the post’s dissemination, one fan penned, “Bravo Tushar sir! This movie showcases your brilliance and creativity,” while another enthusiastically remarked, “Wow! What a fantastic achievement! Congratulations to you!”
Significantly, some time ago, the filmmaker posted an update about the project’s progress. In this announcement, it was disclosed that T-Series Films, Chalk N Cheese Films and the Department of Empowerment of Persons With Disabilities (Divyangjan) Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment Government of India are collaborating for a special screening of the film starring Rajkummar Rao.
The director gratefully acknowledges the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, for their generous support in making Indian Super League (I.S.L) accessible to all by incorporating it with thoughtfulness. A heartfelt thank you is extended to Shri Rakesh Agarwal and everyone else who made this possible. As always, gratitude goes out to @pvrcinemas_official for their continued support.
