As a seasoned gamer of thrilling narratives and captivating performances, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series, “The Assassin.” The pairing of Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore is nothing short of electrifying, and their roles as a mother-son duo in this high-stakes thriller have already piqued my curiosity.
Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore will lead a new Amazon Prime Video series entitled The Assassin.
The six-episode series written by Harry and Jack Williams is now underway with filming in Greece. The story revolves around Julie, a former assassin living quietly on a secluded Greek island. However, her peaceful life takes an unexpected turn when she crosses paths with her estranged son Edward, portrayed by Highmore (known for shows like “The Good Doctor” and “Bates Motel”).
“Equipped with queries about fresh revelations concerning his parentage, Edward struggles to choose the opportune moment to discuss this with his seemingly aloof mother. However, when the chance arises at last, events take a dark turn as Julie’s perilous past resurfaces, compelling them both to abandon the island and evade their pursuers together.”
The show is created collaboratively by Two Brothers Pictures, an esteemed production company known for hits like “The Tourist,” “Boat Story,” and “Fleabag”; ZDF, a German partner in the production; All3Media International; and Stan, an Australian broadcasting platform.

In this project, Hawes and Highmore are joined by executive producers Gina Gershon (known for Riverdale and New Amsterdam), Shalom Brune-Franklin (famous for The Tourist and Baby Reindeer), Jack Davenport (recognized from The Morning Show and Pirates of the Caribbean), Alan Dale (acclaimed in Dynasty and Lost), Gerald Kyd (popular in The Swarm and The Split), Devon Terrell (noted in Totally Completely Fine and Cursed), Richard Dormer (renowned for Blue Lights and Game of Thrones), and David Dencik (celebrated in The Ipcress File and No Time To Die).
