As a long-time fan of Blake Shelton and The Voice, I can’t help but feel a bit torn about his latest announcement. On one hand, I’m thrilled to see him embarking on a Las Vegas residency – after all, who wouldn’t want to catch the cowboy crooner live in Sin City? But on the other hand, this development seems to further distance him from the show that brought us so many memorable moments.

Blake Shelton has been away from “The Voice” for more than a year now, giving him ample time to concentrate on his marriage with Gwen Stefani and explore other professional avenues. Following another season of “Barmageddon” and a tour, the country music icon is embarking on his latest endeavor – a Las Vegas residency, mirroring his wife’s path. Although fans are bound to be thrilled about the upcoming Sin City performances, it might signal an end to any remaining anticipation for Shelton’s comeback to “The Voice”‘s Big Red Chairs.

Blake Shelton Announces Las Vegas Residency In 2025

As a die-hard country music fan and someone who has been following Blake Shelton’s career for years, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement at his latest announcement. Having attended several of his concerts and seen him light up stages across the nation, I have no doubt that his upcoming residency in Las Vegas will be nothing short of phenomenal.

It’s been swirling for years now, and ever since the idea was first floated about opening an Ole Red in Las Vegas, this conversation has been happening too. If you’re going to have a stake in Las Vegas, you got to do a residency also if you’re an artist. I’ve just been kicking the can down the road because I wanted the Ole Red to be open before I did it.

It seems that Blake Shelton’s residency at the Nevada city’s popular location of Ole Red was essentially guaranteed after it was announced he would open a sixth venue there. He mentioned that he might even drop by Ole Red for a spontaneous performance while in town. The show, titled “Blake Shelton: Live in Las Vegas“, runs from February 5 to 15 and tickets are now available.

It seems Blake Shelton might be looking forward to enjoying himself quite a bit in Las Vegas. But this raises the question about his possible comeback to The Voice.

Does The Las Vegas Residency Mean No OG Coach Reunion On The Voice?

When word got out that Adam Levine would be back on The Voice for Season 27, there was renewed optimism among viewers who wanted to see Blake Shelton on the show once more. Shelton had earlier stated he’d only come back after his 23-season run if all four original coaches – him, Levine, Christina Aguilera, and CeeLo Green – were together again. Yet, it appears that every professional engagement Shelton undertakes seems to distance him more from NBC’s vocal competition.

As a die-hard fan, I’d say if Blake Shelton feels like returning to coach on “The Voice” once more, I reckon the Las Vegas residency wouldn’t stand in his way. The concerts he’s scheduled for “Blake Shelton: Live in Las Vegas” are probably set just before Season 27 kicks off, and preparations for that season are already underway with Adam Levine, John Legend, Michael Bublé, and Kelsea Ballerini. If CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera were open to a reunion, Shelton could always adjust his residency dates to fit around his filming schedule.

Previously, various coaches on “The Voice” have embarked on residencies, such as Gwen Stefani, with Blake Shelton joining her for a performance. John Legend managed to arrange Las Vegas concert dates that coincided with his duties on the show, and Maroon 5 undertook one too, albeit after Adam Levine had relinquished his coaching role.

It’s still doubtful that Blake Shelton will reappear on “The Voice” in the future, and his absence isn’t due to any Vegas concerts. On the other hand, you can expect Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, Michael Bublé, and Gwen Stefani on “The Voice” Season 26 when it airs at 8 p.m. ET on Monday, September 26, 2024, on NBC.
