B.J. Novak and Tim Hollingsworth Serving Up Second Helping of ChainFEST in Los Angeles

As a seasoned gamer and foodie with a soft spot for all things chain, I can hardly contain my excitement for ChainFEST’s grand return! Having grown up on the classics like KFC and Panda Express, this event promises to take my favorite eateries to new heights. The thought of sinking my teeth into a Country Fried Steak sandwich from Cracker Barrel, or indulging in a Butter Poached Lobster Biscuit from Red Lobster, is enough to make my taste buds dance with joy!

Grab a fork, ChainFEST is coming back.

Following the success of its debut event last year, I’m thrilled to share that ChainFEST, a unique food festival concept co-created by B.J. Novak from “The Office,” Michelin-starred chef Tim Hollingsworth, producers Jack Davis and Nicholas Kraft, talent manager Byron Ashley, and entrepreneur Abe Burns, is coming back for a second round! This time, it’ll be happening at Downtown L.A.’s Skylight on October 5. Can’t wait to grab my tickets when they go on sale this Friday!

At the upcoming ChainFEST L.A., Hollingsworth is overseeing the menu selections and planning, with an expansion of restaurant collaborations and interactive elements. According to a statement, this year’s event will offer over fifteen unique gourmet partnerships and activations from partners such as Domino’s, KFC, Panda Express, Cracker Barrel, White Castle, Johnny Rockets, Krispy Kreme, Red Robin, Red Lobster, Dutch Bros, Hot Dog on a Stick, Trader Vic’s, and many others. Notably, Koo Koo Roo will be making a comeback after a decade-long absence.

As a devoted foodie, I’m thrilled to share that Cracker Barrel and Hollingsworth have collaborated to craft a dish reminiscent of Cracker Barrel’s beloved country fried steak. This culinary delight will be smothered in a unique Dijon cheddar gravy sauce and sandwiched between one of Cracker Barrel’s freshly hand-rolled buttermilk biscuits. Meanwhile, Red Lobster is planning to serve up buttery lobster biscuits inspired by their iconic Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Krispy Kreme is set to introduce a seasonal twist on their classic glazed donuts, and Domino’s will unveil “Bougie Pizza” and “Bougie Lava Cakes” as delectable dessert options.

Among other features, you’ll find engagements with Cash App and Pepto Bismol, as well as menu items that will be complemented by beverages from Dutch Bros, plus unique cocktails crafted by Pernod Ricard brands such as Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey, Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Malibu Rum, Kahlua Coffee Liqueur, Altos Tequila, and Absolut Vodka.

“Hollingsworth stated that he’s been collaborating with various chains to develop unique dishes that are only available at ChainFEST. Each visitor will get to savor their preferred chain in a completely fresh way; make sure you come with a hearty appetite!”

Speaking as a fellow enthusiast, let me tell you that ChainFEST is the peak of festivities for the chains we adore from our childhood. Yet, it’s more than just a tribute; it’s a revolutionary reinterpretation! You’ll be amazed by the unique, pop-up restaurants from all our partners that will blow your mind, and indulge in exquisite gourmet delights available only at ChainFEST.
