How to get an Infernal Compass
There are five main ways to acquire an Infernal Compass in the game:
- Nightmare Dungeons
- Helltide Events

Nightmare Dungeons
Finishing Nightmare Dungeons at World Tier 4 significantly increases your chances of obtaining an Infernal Compass. This is also the best way to farm these dungeons consistently, so if you’re accustomed to higher-level dungeons, give it a try!
Helltide Events
Should you get an opportunity to participate in a Helltide Event, there’s a possibility that the mysterious rewards, or the Tormented Prizes, could include an Infernal Compass.
Tree of Whispers
Finishing the Tree of Whispers every season offers a variety of wonderful benefits, and if fortune favors you, some of the Cache Rewards might even include an Infernal Compass.
Pit of Artificers
Finishing the “Pit of Artificers” reduces your odds of obtaining an Infernal Compass. However, due to the new Masterwork system, you’ll probably find yourself doing these runs primarily for the materials.
Crafting at the Occultist
Should you successfully accumulate a collection of Sigil Powder and Forgotten Souls, you can create an Infernal Compass at the Occultist’s location within any settlement.
There are more beneficial applications for those resources, given there are four alternative methods to obtain the item. However, it could prove useful if you happen to have some extra.

An Infernal Compass just acts like a key, letting you access an Infernal Horde. Just click it from your inventory to open a portal to a horde.
