As a seasoned hip-hop enthusiast and Atlanta native, I can confidently say that Travis Scott’s surprise 10-year anniversary show for DAYS BEFORE RODEO was nothing short of legendary. The energy in that venue was electric, and it felt like we were transported back to 2014 when La Flame first graced the city with his electrifying performances.
In a sudden move reminiscent of his 2014 Atlanta shows, Travis Scott announced a one-night-only 10-year anniversary show for DAYS BEFORE RODEO, held in Atlanta, only hours before the event began. He made this announcement via his Tumblr account, and the first round of pre-sale tickets were snapped up almost immediately due to high demand. With a maximum capacity of 1,500 attendees, general on-sale tickets were sold out even faster, making the surprise Spotify x Cactus Jack event at The Masquerade a highly anticipated follow-up to his 2014 shows.
9 p.m. was when doors were scheduled to open, but true to form for a Travis Scott concert, there was a slight delay. By about 9:45 p.m., enthusiastic fans started streaming into the venue, rapidly filling up the compact floor space. The merchandise booths on site showcased a variety of the rapper’s products, with many fans opting to sport items from his “ASTROWORLD” album and hastily adding the latest “DAYS BEFORE RODEO” merchandise – primarily hoodies and graphic tees. One shirt cleverly paid homage to the D.A.R.E. program’s logo with the phrase “Drugs You Should Try It,” while another displayed the statement “Not Our First Rodeo” on its back.
As a thunderous cheer of “ATL H*E!” echoed, Chase B made his appearance on stage around 10:30, delivering a short, high-energy set filled with hits like Don Toliver’s “BANDIT,” Playboi Carti’s “Sky,” and the collaborative track “Shoota” by Carti and Lil Uzi Vert. Throughout his performance, Chase B ignited the excitement on both the floor and the balcony, paving the way for Travis Scott’s upcoming set, which commenced around 11:30. Upon his arrival, La Flame instantly illuminated the stage, prompting the crowd at the foot of the stage to move even closer as “Days Before Rodeo: The Prayer” started playing.
During his performance, Scott deliberately provided ample space for the audience to enjoy themselves, instructing security on two occasions – during “Quintana Pt. 2” and “Don’t Play” – to relax. Notably, “Quintana Pt. 2” was performed for the first time since 2015, and Scott decided to start it over midway through to ensure a flawless delivery. Additionally, he performed “Basement Freestyle” for the first time in four years, debuted “Backyard” since 2015, and offered a live rendition of “Grey” for the very first time.
During the entire performance, Young Thug’s vibrant spirit was evident. Throughout his act, Scott frequently honored Thugger, often wearing a “Free Thugger” hoodie during his set, which was part of the merchandise for the event. Following the show, Cactus Jack unveiled a joint collaborative hoodie with Thug’s Sp5der Worldwide brand. During Young Thug’s rendition of “Skyfall”, Scott exclaimed, “No, this is the hardest verse,” and delivered parts of it as the crowd echoed along. After “Drugs You Should Try It” ignited the crowd, Quavo made an appearance for “Sloppy Toppy”, which was their first live performance of that track together.
Prior to the release of “RODEO” on digital streaming platforms, there was a build-up of excitement with “Mamacita” serving as the precursor. This led to crowded mosh pits and frenzy among fans. In anticipation, Scott unveiled some tracks from his vault. The initial new songs to be officially released were “Mo City Flexologist” and “Yeah Yeah”, the latter being a collaboration with Thug, which had been eagerly awaited by many as it had previously leaked. Lastly, the third and final new song that dropped was “Too Many Chances,” concluding the setlist.
Apart from playing the old favorites, Scott also incorporated modern hits into his set. He repeated “FE!N” twice and mixed in “Topia Twins” as well as a section of “Nightcrawler”. You can find the complete playlist further down.

It was quite apparent that the glory days of DAYS BEFORE RODEO were still very much alive when the rapper announced the mixtape’s reissue a week ago. However, the Atlanta show underscored one point beyond any doubt: the days before rodeo will not only persist, but they will continue to endure indefinitely.
