Star Wars Outlaws: Ubisoft Offers Gift for Early Access Players Who Lost Their Progress

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen it all – from game-breaking bugs to developer apologies, and everything in between. The latest twist comes from Ubisoft and their new release, Star Wars Outlaws.

By the close of this week, Star Wars Outlaws is scheduled to debut, but some players who chose to pre-order the game managed to play it several days ahead. Their early impressions and reviews are now circulating on various online platforms.

I’m truly disappointed as an ardent player on PlayStation 5, as it seems we might need to embark on a fresh Outlaws adventure. The recent update indicates that our saved progress from the earlier version could be compromised, necessitating a new game start.

Many gamers have expressed discomfort over the challenge of starting a fresh game, however, Ubisoft aims to alleviate some of that difficulty by providing a little gift instead.

As reported by @GameOverGreggy, Ubisoft has asked players to begin a fresh game via an additional email they’ve sent out.

The developers are planning to provide an ‘In-game Trailblazer token’ along with 100 Ubisoft Connect Points in the email. These points can be redeemed for various in-game prizes.

People feel that a minor aesthetic adjustment doesn’t offset the significant time spent playing the game. However, it’s reassuring to know that the developers are aware that wiping out players’ advancements isn’t an ideal gaming experience.

PS5 Outlaws Players Asked to Start a New Game

According to Insider Gaming, a fresh update has been released for Star Wars Outlaws. Unfortunately, this new patch may disrupt existing saves from the earlier version of the game. Players who own the Gold or Ultimate Edition of Outlaws have received emails from Ubisoft suggesting that they should play the most recent version of the game, which essentially means that once they update to the latest patch, they won’t be able to go back to their original game.

Continuing to play without updating the game would result in “issues and progression blockers.”

“Be Careful Not to Choke on Your Aspirations”

Anticipating that Outlaws could soon become a significant addition to the Star Wars series, it was assumed that numerous online critics would strive to secure early access to the game, given fans’ eagerness to learn promptly if they should invest in this top-tier game.

As soon as the game entered its early access phase, numerous online posts popped up with users offering their initial impressions, discussing aspects like gameplay, narrative, and graphics.

While it’s true that certain critics find the stealth missions and gunplay in Outlaws a bit unremarkable, other players are raving about it, calling it an essential game for avid Star Wars enthusiasts.

From all the feedback, it’s fair to conclude that everyone playing finds the game visually stunning beyond belief. Outlaws presents a vast world filled with numerous content and missions that will keep players engaged for countless hours. In fact, some have confessed that they might not be able to explore the entire game from early access through to its full release.

“You Like Me Because I’m a Scoundrel”

In contrast to recent Star Wars platformer games that predominantly feature Jedi Cal Kestis, “Outlaws” provides an exciting journey for Star Wars enthusiasts who prefer stories about space rogues, their firearms, and interstellar vessels over the Jedi/Sith conflict.

Many fans have gone out to defend Kay Vess for being a great protagonist, but there has also been a lot of love for her animal companion, Nix. Fans should expect more things to pop out to fans once the game launches for everyone, but it looks like Outlaws is the next must-try Star Wars game.

Star Wars Outlaws will launch on Aug. 30 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
