ABC’s ‘The View’ Kicking Off Season 28 With a New Downtown Studio, and Big Political Names (Exclusive)

As a long-time fan of daytime television and politics, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming season of ABC’s The View! With its move to a brand-new studio in the heart of Manhattan and an impressive lineup of high-profile guests, this is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing seasons yet.

For the upcoming 28th season of their daytime talk show “The View,” airing on ABC, they’ve decided to mix things up, with the new season set to premiere on September 3rd.

The talk show, fronted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro, is relocating from its long-standing location on the Upper West Side to a brand new studio at Disney’s nearly completed New York headquarters in Hudson Square. In line with the upcoming U.S. presidential election, the show’s initial weeks back on air are expected to feature several influential political figures, as well as other distinguished guests.

In the initial fortnight, some of the attendees include Representative Nancy Pelosi, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson from the Supreme Court, Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania, as well as athletes Katie Ledecky and Venus Williams. Also present are actors Kathryn Hahn and Joe Locke, and Lauren Sanchez, who is launching her new book titled “The Fly Who Flew to Space“.

As a dedicated gamer, I’m excited to share that this year, “Behind the Table” podcast, my go-to for insights about the show, is undergoing a major upgrade. Hosted by Brian Teta, who’s been at the helm for a decade now, it’s going to be accessible not just on all podcast platforms but also on YouTube for the very first time! This means I can catch up with Brian and the cast discussing the show, sharing their personal stories, and hanging out in a more relaxed setting right on my favorite streaming platform. Can’t wait to tune in!

Teta shares her enthusiasm about returning to discuss matters that truly matter to our audience. The fast-moving news environment ignites passionate debates among our hosts, leading to some truly engaging discussions. Our show really shines during presidential election seasons, and with our relocation to our downtown studio for season 28, only two months before Election Day, I believe the most exciting episodes are yet to come.

The View has experienced a successful season, boasting a three-year peak in viewership, and maintaining its position as the top-rated daytime talk show for the fourth year running. According to ABC, it reaches more American households than any other talk show, even those airing during late-night hours.

Disney is set to relocate its New York office staff from their long-standing location on Upper West Side’s West 66th Street to the brand-new studio at 7 Hudson Street. In doing so, they intend to offload the real estate they currently occupy uptown.

The newly built headquarters was finished off earlier this month, and it’s expected that one of its premier shows, “The View,” will start broadcasting from the new location soon.
