FBI: International Adds Jay Hayden For Season 4 Role, And I'm Touched By All The Love From His Station 19 Family

As a gamer with a decade-long obsession with TV shows, I can’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie and nostalgia when seeing my favorite actors from canceled series landing new roles. It’s like a secret brotherhood that transcends the screen, connecting us through the shared experiences we’ve had while watching these characters grow and evolve over time.

The series “Station 19” concluded its run during the spring television season of 2024, and since a rescue by Netflix didn’t occur, the actors have moved on to new ventures. Most recently, Jay Hayden, who played Travis Montgomery in all seven seasons of ABC’s spinoff of “Grey’s Anatomy”, has been cast in a new role. This former firefighter character will now take on the role of an FBI agent as part of the cast for Season 4 of “FBI: International“.

As your friendly neighborhood gamer here, I’m pumped to share some exciting news! I’ve just bagged a recurring role on CBS’ FBI: International. Yep, you heard it right! According to Deadline, my debut is slated for later in the fourth season.

Beginning October 15, International kicks off its new season with a premiere. As of now, there’s no confirmed date for Hayden to make his debut in Season 4, but if it’s later in the season, viewers might not get to see him until 2025. His former colleagues from Station 19 have already sent their congratulations on his new role, regardless of when his first episode will be broadcasted.

After Jay Hayden posted the news on his Instagram account, his Station 19 family hit up his comment section with supportive messages:

  • Jaine Lee Ortiz: “Woohoo!!!!”
  • Boris Kodjoe: “πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎ”
  • Stefania Spampinato: “πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘”
  • Melissa Marty: “Get it Jay! πŸ”₯”

Ortiz added an extra message on her Instagram Stories by writing “Can’t wait to see you on screen again!” to Hayden. All in all, I’m happy to see these interactions between actors who are no longer working on the same show, and I’m just relieved that Station 19 is available streaming with a Hulu subscription to see these stars in action together despite the cancellation. ABC’s new Thursday night lineup starting this fall is comprised of 9-1-1, Doctor Odyssey, and Grey’s Anatomy.

I was thrilled to see a cast member from “Chicago P.D.” interacting in Jay Hayden’s comment section, since Jesse Lee Soffer has been appointed as the main character in “FBI: International” Season 4. Patrick Flueger, who acted alongside Soffer in “One Chicago” for all ten seasons, left this message to congratulate Hayden.

Absolutely not believeable! Wow, this is extraordinary news!! Kudos to you, Jay! Make sure to take great care of your friend, Jesse Lees Offer.

It’s not necessarily Tracy Spiridakos appearing as a guest on FBI: International following her exit from Chicago P.D., but it’s exciting to see Patrick John Flueger acknowledge his longtime co-star in his congratulatory message to Jay Hayden. Before the termination of Station 19, which was a spin-off of Grey’s Anatomy, Hayden was part of one of TV’s most extensive franchises outside of the Dick Wolf TV universe, encompassing shows like Chicago P.D. and FBI: International.

It appears that the TV show “FBI: International” is expected to enter a transitional phase as it gears up for Season 4, with Jay Hayden yet to arrive. Despite previous cast changes, Luke Kleintank has been the main protagonist of “International”, and Forrester has been the unchallenged leader of the Fly Team since the series began. The arrival of Colin Donnell from “Chicago Med” at the end of Season 3 initially seemed to hint at a new lead for the “FBI” series, but news during the summer break revealed that Jesse Lee Soffer was joining instead, playing a character who is not a replacement for Forrester.

To catch up on the third season of FBI: International before Season 4 starts on October 15, simply tune in with a Paramount+ subscription! You’ll also find the latest seasons of FBI and FBI: Most Wanted on the streaming platform.
