I Have A Game Of Thrones-Related Concern When It Comes To The Fourth Wing Series, But It’s Not The One The Author Addressed

As a dedicated reader of Rebecca Yarros and a connoisseur of epic fantasies, I can confidently say that the anticipation for “Fourth Wing” is palpable among us fans. The potential series, with Michael B. Jordan’s production company involved, has all the makings of a phenomenal adaptation – but there are questions swirling around it, particularly in relation to “Game of Thrones.”

If you share my enthusiasm, chances are you’ve already read both books from Rebecca Yarros’ Empyrean Series and can’t wait for the upcoming Amazon TV series titled “Fourth Wing”, produced by Michael B. Jordan. Although it hasn’t been officially commissioned as a series yet, the intense fandom surrounding these books is so strong that I believe it would be unwise not to produce it. However, there are still some doubts about the potential series, and one of them has been linked to “Game of Thrones”. Interestingly enough, it’s not the “Game of Thrones” issue that I’m particularly curious about

In recent months, Yarros was inquired about measures to steer clear of a predicament similar to that experienced by HBO’s “A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones” production. This refers to a stage where the TV series reached a point with no more books available for reference. As showrunners Benioff and Weiss had to resort to creative decisions, with limited guidance from George R.R. Martin, they were left to their own devices in the later seasons, particularly the final season, which received less positive critical reception

Currently, Rebecca Yarros has confirmed a comprehensive publishing plan for the Empyrean Series, mentioning there will be a total of five books. The third book, Onyx Storm, already has a release date set for January 21, 2025. I must admit, I’m quite excited about this, but I do have another question related to Game of Thrones

The Fourth Wing Question I Have That Also Ties Into Game Of Thrones: Will It Be Expensive Enough?

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at the astronomical costs associated with HBO’s epic fantasy drama, Game of Thrones. Rumors swirl that each episode set them back between 10 to 15 million dollars, which, considering there are 73 episodes in total, amounts to a staggering investment potentially reaching into the hundreds of millions, if not close to a billion dollars! That’s an impressive financial commitment, to say the least

It’s been reported that some high-budget episodes, such as “The Iron Throne,” cost around $15 million. As the cast members’ salaries increased over time, it’s clear that Game of Thrones was always a costly production due to its fantasy elements. My worry about Fourth Wing is whether it will be expensive enough to avoid appearing subpar in quality

As a gamer, I’m excited about “Fourth Wing” – it’s all about dragons! The action-packed dragon battles are numerous, and there’s even a hint of other mystical creatures and magical abilities channeled through these magnificent beasts. However, what catches my attention is the staggering number of dragons in this series compared to shows like “Game of Thrones” or its spinoff, “House of the Dragon.” Creating these dragons using CGI is quite costly, which gives me a moment’s pause. After all, this show seems to have more dragons in a single scene than those other series combined! In essence, it’s a massive undertaking to bring so many fantasy elements to life on screen. While “Game of Thrones” had some mind-blowing special effects, they were only possible due to the show’s substantial budget and, more often than not, the correct scale

Despite its substantial budget, some viewers continue to express dissatisfaction with “The Long Night” due to its perceived darkness. Similarly, complaints arise about the later seasons moving too quickly, despite having a larger budget per episode. Furthermore, the controversial ending of “Game of Thrones” has sparked numerous debates and criticisms

It’s not my preference for anything unfortunate to befall the “Fourth Wing”. Rebecca Yarros’ novels have a dedicated fanbase and could potentially be as thrilling as “The Hunger Games” for me, even surpassing “ACOTAR”, though its future seems uncertain. If developed into a series, they definitely deserve a substantial budget production. Although the ending is yet to be revealed in the third book, “Onyx Storm”, due out in January 2025, there’s a plan for where the show is headed, and I’m eager to see it executed skillfully rather than merely produced

The series “Fourth Wing” is being prepared for streaming on Amazon, which bodes well since Amazon wasn’t stingy with their budget when it came to the “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.” This series reportedly cost approximately $450 million U.S. to produce, making it the most expensive series ever made. While I don’t expect “Fourth Wing” to require a budget quite that large, I hope it surpasses lower-budget shows like “The Magicians” and “Legacies” in visual quality (although these shows have their charm)

To truly give The Empyrean series its due, the streamer should invest some funds in the Michael B. Jordan-produced fantasy drama. I must admit, it’s a project I can’t wait to see unfold. Here’s hoping it’ll prove to be worth the investment
