M. Night Shyamalan creates his films under the Blinding Edge Pictures label, a production house with a long-term, first-look agreement with Warner Bros. The inspiration for Caddo Lake came after filmmakers Held and George stumbled upon a photograph of the real Caddo Lake online. This discovery led to numerous visits to the cypress forest that borders Texas and Louisiana before the movie shooting in late 2021 and 2022, near Karnak, Texas
