Watching Tom Holland And Zendaya Freak Out Over Their Spider-Man Audition Reels Is Adorable, But It’s Also Bumming Me Out

As a gamer who’s been through the rollercoaster of Marvel Cinematic Universe, I can say with certainty that the future of Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man is a mystery wrapped in an enigma. The chemistry between him, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon is undeniable, making their journey in the MCU trilogy one for the books.

Is there any update on Tom Holland’s involvement in the Spider-Man series? This is a question that dedicated Spiderman fans have been asking, especially since Marvel Studios didn’t reveal any details about Spider-Man 4 during San Diego Comic-Con. While there are gaps in the schedule of upcoming Marvel films, no concrete plans seem to be set for Holland’s return as Peter Parker, or if the fourth Spider-Man movie will focus on street-level adventures or a multiverse storyline

Which makes it all the more painful to watch this sweet social media video of MCU Spider-Man stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon watching their early audition reels, knowing how that journey was going to end. There’s something so endearing and innocent in seeing Holland cracking up over his use of the Spider-Man web hands, or Zendaya just acing her audition. Try and remember how great this trio was as the beating heart of the MCU Spider-Man trilogy. It might never be this good again:

I’m finding it difficult to decide about Tom Holland’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the upcoming Spider-Man tales. The clip you saw clearly shows a strong chemistry between the three main actors, which significantly enhances the quality of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and makes it one of the top Spider-Man movies. Moreover, their real-life relationship adds an authenticity that any Spider-Man film could exploit

However, I desperately want the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home to stick. Peter Parker (Tom Holland) made an enormous sacrifice to correct his multiversal error, allowing Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to wipe Peter from the memories of anyone who knew him… including his girlfriend (Zendaya) and his next friend (Jacob Batalon). This is classic Spider-Man, making him an isolated hero doing what is right, even though it hurts. To just bring back MJ and Ned would negate the painful sacrifice. Zendaya and Batalon need to sit out at least one movie, if not more, before Marvel brings them back into Peter’s life. In my personal opinion.

Currently, I’m eagerly waiting for any updates on Spider-Man 4. Although Sony Pictures is the one responsible for revealing the next installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, they are only hinting at their third Venom film and a Kraven the Hunter project that seems underappreciated. At this point, it appears that we might experience Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse before Tom Holland dons the suit again. Watching the video above is both thrilling and disappointing, as we’re not sure if we’ll have such a good time like that again anytime soon

Fans eager for additional Marvel tales can gear up for “Agatha All Along“, an extension of the WandaVision narrative starring Kathryn Hahn. This captivating continuation becomes accessible to all Disney+ subscribers starting from September 18
