JiyongKim Returns to Seongsu with Sixth Seasonal Exhibition

As a seasoned fashion enthusiast who has traversed the globe in search of unique style narratives, I must say that JiyongKim’s Exhibiton #6 left me utterly captivated. Having wandered through the trendy neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Seoul, I can confidently assert that Seongsu indeed bears a striking resemblance to its New York counterpart – a vibrant hub brimming with creativity and innovation.

This week, JiyongKim debuted its sixth seasonal showcase in the stylish district of Seongsu, often referred to as “Seoul’s Brooklyn.” Notably, this latest event signifies a return for the local label, as it originally launched its first exhibition at that exact location about two years prior.

Titled “Exhibition #6″, designer Jiyong Kim mounted a grand textile display on the building’s exterior, providing visitors an understanding of the brand’s fundamental beliefs and essence. During its exhibition period, the fabric was subtly bleached by the sun, resulting in a unique pattern and visual impact that is synonymous with the brand.

As I step inside this building, I’m greeted by an impressive collection of artworks and exhibits that trace the evolution of JiyongKim’s creations. On the ground floor, there are guided tours available for those who wish to delve deeper into the brand’s vision and craftsmanship. Upstairs on the second floor, I find myself drawn to the shop, where I can take home a piece of this innovative brand. They offer seasonal merchandise along with items from their SS24 and FW24 collections.

The exhibition will be open daily from September 3rd to the 29th, with hours from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. However, it will be closed for the Chuseok Holiday on days between the 16th and 18th of September.
