Brisket Or Dogpool? Ryan Reynolds And Hugh Jackman Had No Problem Taking Some Shots At Glen Powell's Twisters Pup

As a devoted movie enthusiast and self-proclaimed canine connoisseur who’s been around the block a few times (or at least seen my fair share of films), I must say that this summer has been nothing short of pawsome! The release of major blockbusters was, indeed, a treat for the eyes, but the rise of two internet-breaking canines – Dogpool’s Peggy and Brisket – has truly stolen the show.

This summer was filled with the premiere of numerous blockbuster movies that thrilled cinema-goers. What’s intriguing is that it wasn’t just films making a splash, but also two internet-famous canines. One of them is Dogpool, the dog companion of Deadpool and Wolverine (Peggy), and the other is Brisket, owned by actor Glen Powell. Both pooches have had their moments in the spotlight, yet the question remains: Can they share the Hollywood limelight? It’s possible, but that didn’t prevent Deadpool & Wolverine stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman from good-naturedly poking fun at Powell’s pup.

As I championed the Marvel blockbuster, my supposed rivals Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds were inquired about why Peggy should be the Canine Sensation of the Summer over Brisket. After being presented with a photo featuring Brisket next to a shirtless Glen Powell, ever-witty Reynolds pointed out the “abundance of bare skin” associated with the dog. Subsequently, Reynolds lauded Peggy, before expressing his perspective on what distinguishes her from her canine counterpart.

In simpler terms, Peggy seems extraordinarily unique to me, almost like no other dog in the universe. Compared to Brisket, who is certainly charming, I have a feeling that encountering Peggy will leave an indelible impression on anyone.

The absolutely bonkers Deadpool dog was introduced to the world back in late 2023 via social media posts promoting D&W. A Dogpool Instagram account was even established to increase the hype for the unique-looking pup, who hails from the U.K. During the joint interview with EtalkCTV, Hugh Jackman also hyped up Peggy, even humorously referencing Glen Powel’s Twisters in the process:

And I know Brisket’s clearly been through a lot of like, tornadoes and twisters, but don’t fuck with Dogpool. Dogpool will take Brisket down.

As a devoted fan, I can confidently say that Peggy has truly earned her title as an extraordinary dog, even sharing the glory of box-office hits like Deadpool and Wolverine. Yet, Brisket is no less endearing! Glen Powell welcomed this adorable pup into his life after his breakup with Gigi Paris, and it seems they’ve become inseparable ever since. Although Brisket might not boast box office records like Peggy, he certainly captures the hearts of many on the internet. To sum it up, I believe our town has enough space for two famous canine celebrities, and I’m excited about the idea of a partnership between them. Perhaps Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman could join forces with Glen Powell to bring this collaboration to life. I have no doubt that such an event would capture everyone’s attention on social media. For now, let’s enjoy the unique qualities of each pup, even as we exchange playful comments.
