Reminiscing about the company I kept, which included esteemed individuals – friends, professionals, forward-thinking intellectuals, influencers – and several of them expressed their disbelief, ‘He didn’t hit the mark! What a failed assassin! Perhaps it was a planned event. Maybe there was a conspiracy,'” the actress recounted. “I found myself wondering, ‘Haven’t we overlooked the fact that two lives were lost?’ Two people perished. That’s tragic. That’s heartbreaking. I couldn’t comprehend how others could discuss this matter with such fervor for death.
Later on, Woodley clarified that she had shared merely the initial page of Melania’s letter, since the subsequent pages contained more political content.
She stated, ‘The initial page portrayed a scene where beneath the political facade lies a man, a grandfather, who returns to his family, his grandkids, and enjoys music. The individual behind that mask is my spouse.’
Initially, Woodley chose to share the letter because she considered it a touching expression of human kindness. She mentioned that her busy lifestyle and lack of focus on social media were the reasons she had forgotten about posting it. However, her friend’s text, inquiring about her well-being, indicated that her act wasn’t appreciated by everyone.
The former Big Little Lies actor recollected, “I decided to search for my name online after thinking, ‘What on earth did I say?’. Naturally, I found numerous news articles regarding Melania Trump, and I was surprised to find that such a large number of articles had been written because I shared a post about a woman expressing gratitude that her husband is still alive? It seemed unbelievable to me.
Previously a vocal advocate for Bernie Sanders, Woodley hasn’t disclosed her current political leanings. However, her values are evident through the actions she’s taken in what is commonly known as the activist community.
