His journey from stand-up comedian to actor, singer, and now the host of the International Emmys, is nothing short of epic.
2024’s International Emmy Awards will see Indian comedian and actor, Vir Das, taking on the role as the event’s host. The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences made this announcement on Wednesday.
The International Emmy Awards will take place on Nov. 25 in New York City.
In 2021, my special “Vir Das: For India” was nominated in the comedy category, and I took home the win in 2023 for my latest Netflix comedy special “Landing.” Currently, I’m jet-setting across the globe on my Mind Fool tour. On top of that, I’ve created, produced, and acted in numerous series such as the ABC spy dramedy “Whiskey Cavalier,” the suspenseful “Hasmukh” for Netflix, and the travel show “Jestination Unknown” for Amazon. You might have also spotted me in Judd Apatow’s “The Bubble,” and I’m now developing a single-camera comedy series with CBS Studios and Andy Samberg. Oh, and did I mention I’m the frontman of India’s comedy-rock band Alien Chutney?
Das expressed his joy about being the host of the International Emmys, stating that it’s a significant and prestigious event, showcasing creators from around the globe who he believes are producing the best content currently.
