‘SNL’ Actor Chloe Troast Says Season 50 Exit “Was Not My Choice”

As a gamer who’s been through more job changes than I care to remember (think of it as leveling up and getting a better gear set), I can empathize with Chloe Troast‘s situation. Getting a taste of something incredible like Saturday Night Live, only to be pulled away, must feel like completing an epic quest, only to have the game reset just when you thought you were about to get that legendary weapon.

Chloe Troast announced on social media on Wednesday that her departure from Saturday Night Live wasn’t a decision she made herself.

Hi there! Just wanted to share some news – I won’t be appearing on ‘SNL’ next season. Unfortunately, this wasn’t something I decided myself; I really wanted to be back with my friends and the whole team. It was like a second home for me. A big thank you to everyone involved. You’re all amazing!

After a single season on Saturday Night Live as a prominent cast member during season 49, Troast has decided to part ways with the show. This announcement was made in unison with NBC’s introduction of three new featured players for season 50: Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim, and Jane Wickline.

Punkie Johnson and Molly Kearney had earlier revealed their intentions to leave the show during the summer season.

Troast likewise announced the news on Instagram, posting a more extensive message. “I long to return and be reunited with all the fantastic individuals I met there; it genuinely felt like my home,” she penned. “However, it wasn’t meant to be.

I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to each one of you who stood by me. Particularly those who attended my summer tour, dressed up as characters, and shared such delightful comments. You are truly precious to me. I hope I managed to bring joy and laughter your way. Sending all my love.

She signed the message, “Onwards and upwards.”
