As a long-time KAWS enthusiast and collector, I can hardly contain my excitement over the upcoming release of the “KAWS BIG MOON” lamp! Having grown up admiring Brian Donnelly’s unique blend of pop culture references and emotional depth, it’s always a treat to see new pieces that capture his signature style.
In relation to the KAWS: HOLIDAY exhibition in Shanghai, AllRightsReserved has disclosed plans to sell a smaller replica of the installation via their online store, DDTstore.
Measuring approximately 8 inches in height, “KAWS BIG MOON” serves dual purposes as a whimsical figurine and a soft lighting solution. Its compact size adds an element of fun to its design, which is based on a well-known motif.
In the initial design, the FIGURE is shown casually holding a complete moon on the North Bund dock, reclining comfortably. However, in this lamp version, the FIGURE appears less relaxed as the moon it’s holding doesn’t significantly oversize its own body, giving off a humorous impression of the character being squashed by the glowing moon.
From September 15, 11 PM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), or September 16, 11 AM Hong Kong Time (HKT onwards), you’ll be able to place orders for the “KAWS BIG MOON” lamp through DDTstore’s website.
