DS Automobiles unveiled their long-awaited model, the SM Tribute, honoring the iconic Citroën SM and marking a decade of pioneering design by DS. The SM Tribute was presented at the Chantilly Arts & Elegance event, showcasing respect for the past while hinting at the brand’s forward-thinking aspirations.
The SM Tribute, crafted by DS DESIGN STUDIO PARIS, revamps the legendary 1970 Citroën SM, renowned for its sleek aerodynamic design and advanced technology. This modern rendition preserves the essence of the original while infusing it with contemporary aesthetics. The streamlined, muscular shape showcases a fresh take on the classic Gold Leaf color from 1971, complemented by a contemporary bi-tone scheme and aerodynamic 22-inch wheels.
The design keeps the SM’s distinctive elongated hood and its signature rear quarter-panel styling, yet integrates contemporary elements such as a 3D illuminated screen in the front, combining old-world elegance with cutting-edge technology. Inside, the SM TRIBUTE demonstrates a revamped interpretation of the 1970s dashboard, featuring a projection-based display and immersive audio and lighting effects, preserving the essence of luxury and innovation.
