According to a report by News 18, Malaika Arora’s father, Anil Mehta, passed away last Wednesday evening around 8 PM. The autopsy conducted later showed that his death was caused by various traumatic injuries.
Previously, it appeared that Anil Mehta may have taken his own life, according to initial findings. However, DCP Crime Branch Raj Tilak Roshan stated that Mehta’s body was discovered on the sixth floor of his residence. He added that an in-depth investigation is ongoing, with forensic teams at the scene and the body being prepared for a postmortem examination. Although suicide seems likely at this stage, a comprehensive probe is still underway.
According to India Today’s report, just before the tragic event, Anil Mehta told his daughters Malaika and Amrita that he was feeling exhausted by saying “I’m tired.” Initially, it was reported that Malaika Arora, who was in Pune then, rushed back to Mumbai upon learning about her father’s demise. Both sisters, Malaika and Amrita, promptly made their way to their mother’s home to provide support during this difficult time for the family.
On Wednesday evening, Malaika Arora shared an emotional statement, confirming that her father, Anil Mehta, had passed away. Her message conveyed that he was a gentle soul, cherished grandfather, loving husband, and the family’s best friend. The family is currently grappling with this loss and has asked for privacy from the media and well-wishers during these challenging times. They appreciate your understanding, sympathy, and respect.
Today marked the funeral of Anil Mehta, and a variety of industry friends gathered to offer their condolences. Among those in attendance were Arbaaz Khan (Malaika Arora’s ex-husband) along with his wife Sshura Khan; Kareena Kapoor Khan accompanied by Saif Ali Khan and Karisma Kapoor; Arjun Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Sajid Khan together with Farah Khan, as well as many others.
