As a seasoned movie critic with a penchant for unconventional storytelling and a soft spot for captivating performances, I must say that Betty Gilpin has once again proved her mettle with her role in “Three Women.” Having had the privilege of witnessing her transformative turn as Debbie Eagan on GLOW, I can attest to the fact that Gilpin’s portrayal of Lina is nothing short of extraordinary.
The captivating AI drama “Mrs. Davis,” starring Betty Gilpin (famous for her role in GLOW), garnered a lot of fans and boosted Gilpin’s fame even more. Surprisingly, despite its popularity, the series was only nominated for one Emmy Award (in the category of Outstanding Sound Editing for a Limited Or Anthology Series, Movie Or Special) and lost to Netflix’s “Ripley.” During a recent interview with MovieWeb about her upcoming Starz drama “Three Women,” we asked Gilpin if she knew that “Mrs. Davis” would be classified as a limited series before Peacock changed the show’s Emmy category from Drama to Limited/Anthology Series.
Although she didn’t disclose whether she was aware of the change, she was open about her potential future involvement in the program, pointing out that she might not reappear on it.
Man, I could’ve easily spent ten seasons on that remarkable show. Honestly, it leaves me feeling quite melancholic. It felt like a dream job, truly unparalleled. Even now, Jake McDorman and I still bounce ideas off each other about scenes we filmed years ago. We often find ourselves saying, “What if we’d given this a shot? But alas, it’s all over.” The whole experience was just so exhilarating and unique.
Regarding potential future installments of the highly acclaimed series, “Mrs. Davis,” which quickly became one of Peacock’s top-viewed new releases and received a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Gilpin remained hopeful.
I’m considering a second season, and I’m open to releasing it through a streaming platform such as Tampax or Chips Ahoy. The choice is flexible for me.

Known as an “intimate, haunting portrayal of female desire,” this series follows three women on a life-altering journey that promises to dramatically upend their existence.
Indeed it is. Gilpin plays Lina, a suburban Indiana homemaker who’s braving a decade marker into a passionless marriage. Suddenly, she embarks on an affair that all too quickly transforms every aspect of her life. It’s one of Gilpin’s most compelling performances, offering a stunning array of depth and emotion. The series also features DeWanda Wise (Jurassic World Dominion, She’s Gotta Have It) as a savvy entrepreneur whose open marriage is tested when two sexy strangers threaten her idyllic love story.
Simultaneously, Gabrielle Creevy (from “In My Skin”) takes on the character of a North Dakota student alleging an inappropriate relationship with her married English teacher. Shailene Woodley (known for “Big Little Lies”) steps into the role of Gia, a mourning writer who invites three women to recount their personal experiences, a character inspired by Taddeo who embarked on a nationwide trip to explore women’s lives.
