Bobby Moynihan, Chris Parnell Shoot Indie Movie in Trailer for Mockumentary ‘Micro Budget’ (Exclusive)

As a seasoned film enthusiast who’s been through the rollercoaster of independent cinema, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon seeing the trailer for “Micro Budget.” The star-studded cast alone is enough to pique my interest, but it’s the premise that really reels me in.

The preview for the mockumentary movie “Micro Budget” showcases several well-known comedic actors and will be released before its premiere at various film festivals later this month.

The Hollywood Reporter’s exclusive first look at the promo teases the comedy feature from director and co-writer Morgan Evans. Brandon Micheal Hall, Bobby Moynihan and Chris Parnell star in Micro Budget, which centers on clueless father-to-be Terry (Hall), who moves with his pregnant wife to Los Angeles to shoot a low-budget disaster movie that he aims to sell to a streaming service for a big profit.

Completing our ensemble are Maria Bamford, Mike Mitchell, Neil Casey, Patrick Noth, Emilea Wilson, Nichole Sakura, Jordan Rock, Jon Gabrus and Hal Linden.

Hall’s character says in the trailer, ‘I learned about this individual known as Paranormal Activity, he made his movie on a shoestring budget and later sold it for a staggering amount. That’s when I thought, ‘Let’s gather some funds, create a film, and aim to sell it for a massive profit.’

Given the circumstances, our diverse team and I are encountering quite a few challenges with this project. For instance, Moynihan expressed his frustration by saying, “I need someone to compensate me for my damaged bicycle!

The film titled ‘Micro Budget’ is in search of distribution now. It will have its first showing at the Calgary International Film Festival on September 21, with a repeat screening on September 28. Additionally, it will be screened at the Tacoma Film Festival on October 12 and at the Buffalo International Film Festival on October 13.

In this production, Evans (from “Teen Titans Go!”) took charge, working alongside Noth on the screenplay. The team of Evans, Noth, Wilson, Rob Hatch-Miller, and Puloma Basu all played producer roles.
