Timberland's New Campaign Is "ICONIC" Indeed

As a fan who has grown up admiring the timeless style and durability of Timberland boots, I couldn’t help but feel a rush of nostalgia when I saw their latest “ICONIC” campaign. The choice of four iconic figures – Naomi Campbell, Teddy Swims, Slawn, and Kai-Isaiah Jamal – to front the campaign is nothing short of inspired.

To mark the enduring legacy of its renowned Original Yellow Boot, which turned 50 last year, Timberland is going all out in its latest campaign called “ICONIC.” This campaign features four equally iconic personalities – Naomi Campbell, Teddy Swims, Slawn, and Kai-Isaiah Jamal – who are starring in a striking new photo shoot for the brand.

Campbell graces the cover of the lookbook, leaving no doubt about her attire – just her iconic Original Yellow Boots. Meanwhile, musician Swims showcases his charisma in an eye-catching photo, with his teeth grills shining bright and his vintage Original Yellow Boots casually slung over his shoulder. As Swims puts it, “The Original Yellow Boot has remained a constant through the years. It’s a boot that embodies style in a way that never wavers. It’s always fashionable, no matter when it is or what else you wear.

Nigerian artist Slawn echoes the same idea by saying, “The Original Yellow Boot is timeless, seductive, and truly reflects my style. I own approximately six pairs of them.

Jamal, who is known as a model, poet, and trans visibility activist, finishes the campaign, stating, “In my opinion, something is ‘iconic’ if it carries a lasting impact, history, and cultural significance. To me, the story of Timberland and how culture has been both embraced by it and spawned from it an entirely new culture… that’s truly iconic.

Last year saw collaborations between Timberland and Louis Vuitton, Wales Bonner, and White Mountaineering, resulting in redesigns of their classic shapes.
