Last week, Justin Vernon hinted at a new Bon Iver project by cleaning up his social media accounts and posting a mysterious pre-save link. Now, he’s made it official: A new Bon Iver single will be released soon.
Under the title “S P E Y S I D E”, it’s confirmed that the latest track from Bon Iver will be available worldwide on Friday, September 20th.
Featuring vocals and guitar from Vernon, viola and strings from Rob Moose, as well as additional production by Ryan Olson, “S P E Y S I D E” marks Bon Iver’s initial studio release since the 2020 albums “AUATC” and “PDLIF,” which followed his last original studio album, i,i, released in 2019. The track will also be accompanied by a music video directed by Erinn Springer.

The formal declaration comes shortly after a series of cryptic Instagram previews from Vernon, consisting of black-and-white abstract clips and snippets of synth-infused music in the background.
