Ahsoka’s Ezra Bridger Actor Shuts Down Rumors About Mandalorian And Grogu Movie

As a seasoned gamer and Star Wars enthusiast with decades of fandom under my belt, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and confusion regarding the latest news about “The Mandalorian & Grogu.” On one hand, I’m excited to see Pedro Pascal return as Mando, and Sigourney Weaver joining the cast is certainly intriguing. However, the fact that Eman Esfandi, who plays Ezra Bridger in Ahsoka, has denied any involvement in this film leaves me scratching my head.

Instead of confirming that Season 4 of “The Mandalorian” is scheduled among future “Star Wars” productions, the next adventure for Din Djarin and Grogu will play out on the cinema screen instead. Titled “The Mandalorian & Grogu“, this film is slated to hit theaters on May 22, 2026. Pedro Pascal will return as Mando, with Sigourney Weaver taking on a yet-to-be-disclosed role. However, Eman Esfandi, who portrays Ezra Bridger in “Ahsoka“, has denied speculation about his involvement in the upcoming “Star Wars” movie.

In a now-removed message on the platform (previously known as Twitter), someone asserted that Esfandi would reappear as Ezra in The Mandalorian & Grogu. However, the actor himself dismissed this speculation in another post on the same platform, stating:

I did not say this, Mando this is not the way

Eman Esfandi, who appeared in last year’s ‘King Richard’, speculated that the individual who misrepresented information about Esfandi’s role in ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ may have misunderstood him instead of intentionally spreading false information. In reality, Esfandi has not confirmed his involvement in ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’, but it’s possible he might be part of the project due to Lucasfilm’s reputation for keeping film details confidential, similar to Marvel Studios.

At D23 in August, some clips from “The Mandalorian & Grogu” were unveiled, which started filming in June. These previews revealed that Zeb Orrelios, a companion of Ezra Bridger’s from “Star Wars Rebels”, will feature in the series, along with other Anzellan species members. This marks Zeb’s second live-action role, following his brief appearance in “The Mandalorian” Season 3. With Zeb appearing, it raises the possibility that other “Rebels” characters could make an appearance too. Given that the timeline of “The Mandalorian” coincides with those of “Ahsoka”, “The Book of Boba Fett”, and the upcoming “Skeleton Crew”, it’s plausible that more characters from the Rebels universe might join in.

For Ezra’s situation, it’s worth noting that at the end of Ahsoka Season 1, he successfully broke free from his exile on Peridea and reconnected with Hera Syndulla and Chopper, who are other significant Rebels characters. Since a natural progression for these three characters might be appearing in Ahsoka Season 2, set to start filming at the end of the year, it’s possible that Ezra could make an appearance in The Mandalorian & Grogu without conflicting with the narrative planned for the next installment of the Rosario Dawson-led series.

If it turns out that Eman Esfandi will once again play Ezra Bridger in “The Mandalorian & Grogu”, we’ll keep you updated. In the meantime, consider watching his performance in “Ahsoka” Season 1 on your Disney+ subscription, or make plans to watch the “Star Wars” movies in order, or any other TV shows set in a distant galaxy, far, far away.
