As a sneakerhead with over two decades of collecting under my belt, I can confidently say that the return of the Nike x Comme des Garçons Homme Plus Air Max TL 2.5 is a dream come true! This forgotten gem from the early 2000s has always held a special place in my heart, and to see it resurrected by CDG in minimalistic hues is nothing short of magical.

Reese’s latest collaboration with Nike has been released! Showcased during its Fall/Winter 2024 fashion show in Paris, Comme des Garçons is expanding its shoe lineup with three colorways of the Air Max TL 2.5. This design, absent from the market for two decades, has been reimagined by CDG HOMME PLUS in a simplistic color palette.

In a simpler, more conversational style: The classic Nike “Total” Air Max model from the early 2000s was largely overlooked and has remained hidden in Nike’s archives for years. However, Comme des Garçons (CDG) is bringing it back into the limelight with their latest collaboration, offering it in pristine white, stark black, and mixed color schemes.

The design of these low-top shoes subtly echoes the Air Max 97, with curved details, rounded toes, and textured soles adding to its profile. A seamless mesh base is found throughout the collection, while contrasting details provide a striking finish. Branding from the collaboration between Nike and CDG HOMME can be seen on the heels, insoles, and soles, giving the design a touch of minimalistic style.
