GANNI SS25 Turns Up the Volume With Aesthetic Alchemy

As a seasoned gamer who’s navigated countless virtual worlds and fashion realms, I must say that GANNI’s SS25 show at Paris Fashion Week was nothing short of an exhilarating quest. The “Craft” collection, much like leveling up in my favorite video game, was a testament to the brand’s commitment to sustainable materials and the evolution of the iconic “GANNI Girl.

At the Palais de Tokyo’s Galerie Haute, during Paris Fashion Week, GANNI debuted their SS25 showcase, marking their entry into the Copenhagen brand’s Parisian fashion scene. Dubbed “The Craft,” this collection highlights GANNI’s exploration of sustainable materials and serves as a stylish reemergence of the iconic “GANNI Girl” on the Paris stage. Emphasizing responsible production, the Danish label showcased their distinctive blend of playfulness and modernity in female fashion through striking contrasts, dynamic layering, and bold patterns that announce GANNI’s presence loud and clear. In a conversation with WWD, creative director Ditte Reffstrup described the collection as having a “witchery” feel, characterized by its textile-focused magic and aesthetic tension. As Reffstrup put it, “It feels like us being witches fighting for something.

The performance began by showcasing an ensemble that included a belted blazer featuring chrome eyelets, a see-through organza blouse, and a unique combination of a mini/knee-length skort, all bathed in a gentle white hue. Following this, themes of contrasts such as rigidity versus softness, fluidity versus structure, and transparency versus opacity were skillfully woven throughout the display. Next came an oversized dress crafted from fragments of GANNI jerseys, followed by a structured midi dress with a drop-waist, featuring gathered trims for a feminine feel. As the show unfolded, there was a struggle between a bold cheetah print and a delicate floral design, as well as a confrontation between vibrant digital colors and neutral tailoring tones.

At the fashion show, the B-corp label showcased six novel fabrics such as Circulose®, Celium™, and Symplfyber Fybron™ for their collection. The incorporation of these new materials stems from Ganni’s “Fabrics of Tomorrow” research project, which was initiated in 2019 to further the brand’s ambition of reducing carbon emissions by 50% by 2027.

The presentation ended dramatically when a model gracefully strutted down the runway, showcasing an otherworldly, flowing red gown. This gown featured intricate ruching on the bodice and was teamed with striking knee-high patent leather red boots. This final outfit, filled with impact, reinforces GANNI’s SS25 message, which challenges the concept of “quiet luxury” by celebrating creativity and embracing the intricacies of modern womanhood in all its complexity.
