‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 Releases Intense, Ominous Teaser Trailer

As a diehard fan of The Last of Us franchise, I can hardly contain my excitement! The release of the teaser trailer for season two feels like Christmas came early. After binge-watching and re-watching the first season multiple times, it’s been a rollercoaster waiting for more of Joel, Ellie, and their harrowing journey through this post-apocalyptic world.

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve just gotten wind of the very first official teaser trailer for season two of “The Last of Us” unveiled by HBO. Alongside this, they also revealed a set of three captivating posters!

The fresh scenes, accompanied by the melancholic tune of “Future Days” by Pearl Jam, unfold the narrative of apocalypse survivors Joel (Pedro Pascal), Ellie (Bella Ramsey), and Joel’s brother Tommy (Gabriel Luna). Additionally, we meet new characters, bringing the total cast to include Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac. This season also features Catherine O’Hara as a guest star.

Five years after the initial season’s events brought peace, Joel and Ellie’s shared history unexpectedly resurfaces, thrusting them into a struggle against each other and a world that proves to be more perilous and unstable than the one they once knew.

In 2023, the inaugural season of “The Last of Us” on HBO turned out to be their most-viewed premiere series to date. The upcoming season is scheduled to air sometime in the next year. This season garnered eight Emmy nominations, including for the acting performances of Pascal and Ramsey, as well as for best drama series.

The launch date aligns with “The Last of Us Day,” on September 26, marking the anniversary of the cordyceps virus outbreak in the initial “The Last of Us” video game from Naughty Dog.

The television series ‘The Last of Us’ is penned and overseen by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. This production is a joint effort with Sony Pictures Television, also boasting the executive producer roles of Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Evan Wells.
