As a long-time fan of Yellowstone, this news has me more excited than a rancher at a branding party! The expansion to CBS is like striking gold in the middle of Montana’s vast plains. I remember back in the day when I had to scramble for antenna signals just to catch an episode. Now, with CBS reaching millions more homes, it feels like the Dutton family has invited one and all to their ranch!
The return of Yellowstone is getting bigger.
Not only does the show air on Paramount Network, but its long-awaited November 10th premiere, marking the first original episode in 22 months, will also be shown on CBS. Unlike a simultaneous broadcast, this premiere will actually air on CBS at 10 p.m. ET/PT, which is two hours after it initially airs on Paramount Network.
During its final season in 2022-23, Yellowstone was the biggest TV show on traditional television. The broadcast of the episode on November 10th will be preceded by the most watched network series from last season, Tracker, on CBS. Additionally, an NFL doubleheader is planned for that afternoon, which is expected to bring a massive audience into CBS’s primetime schedule.
Additionally, CBS manages to reach a larger number of households compared to Paramount Network, providing more opportunities for viewers to watch the program.
The second part of “Yellowstone’s” fifth season will proceed without Kevin Costner, who had been leading the cast since its inception for over four seasons. However, he has decided to leave the show to work on his new western project titled “Horizon: An American Saga“. Additionally, there have been conflicting reports about a creative disagreement between Costner and the showrunner, Taylor Sheridan, regarding the role of John Dutton in the upcoming episodes.
Back in November, CBS wasn’t a newcomer to airing Yellowstone. Previously, they had broadcast episodes from earlier seasons the previous fall, when there were writers’ and actors’ strikes and they lacked original scripted content.
