As a fan with a keen eye for Hollywood history and a soft spot for contemporary pop culture, I can’t help but feel a sense of awe at Chloë Sevigny’s latest venture – her participation in Charli XCX’s “360” music video. The actress, who has graced our screens with iconic roles since the ’90s, continues to surprise us with her versatility and adaptability.
Chloë Sevigny recalls her best-ever Brat Summer, as she featured in Charli XCX’s “360” music video.
Actress from “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” made a visit to “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” during which he inquired about her brief appearance in the popular summer hit song’s celebrity-filled video.
To be honest, I wasn’t very familiar with Charli XCX. She seemed to be everywhere on Instagram, with everyone talking about her. I thought to myself, ‘Who is this Charli XCX?’ Then I found out who else was going to be in the video and my reaction was, ‘Rachel Sennott? Sign me up!’ I’m a huge fan of hers.
The music video featured Sennott, Sevigny, Julia Fox, Emma Chamberlain, Quenlin Blackwell, and Chloe Cherry, along with several others. Notably, Sevigny made an appearance where she stepped out of a black vehicle, dressed in all black and holding a cigarette, before joining Charli XCX for a walk down the street.
Later on, Jimmy Fallon inquired if Charli had explained Brat Summer to her, to which the actress from “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” replied, “I asked the director what the overall feeling was for the video, how I should behave, and he said, ‘Just be a brat.’ So I responded, ‘A brat?’ Given that I have a 4-year-old, I already know what that entails (Laughs).
Sevigny added, “I can pull off the ‘brat’ role, but I preferred ‘attitude,’ if you catch my drift. Frankly, I feel too mature for the ‘brat’ persona. Let’s go with ‘sexy attitude’ instead.
Following her unique interpretation of the character ‘Brat’, the star from ‘Big Love’ stated that the entire process was incredibly enjoyable, further expressing, “It’s crucial to maintain its vibrancy and novelty. Keep it lively!
At the same period, Sevigny was shooting Netflix’s “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” in Los Angeles. Her co-star, Cooper Koch (who played Erik Menendez), advised her to go ahead with it, and she followed his suggestion.
